ACB achieved over VND16,600 billion in pre-tax profit in 9 months

 Tuesday, November 10,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Asia Commercial Bank (ACB - HOSE) announced its business results for the first nine months of 2026, with credit growth reaching 11.5%, and the corporate customer segment continuing to be the main growth driver.

At the end of the first nine months of 2026, ACB recorded pre-tax profit of over VND16,600 billion, fulfilling 74% of its 2026 annual plan. Of this, the profit in the third quarter reached nearly VND5,900 billion, a 9% increase compared to the same period last year. Besides growth in scale, the quality of profit was also strengthened, focusing on core business activities.
Total operating income for the nine months reached nearly VND28,000 billion, an increase of over 9% compared to the same period last year. Net interest income reached over VND23 trillion, an increase of more than 16% compared to the same period last year.
Regarding non-interest income, income from service activities reached over VND 2.6 trillion, an increase of 16% compared to the same period last year. Although no one-off income was recorded compared to the same period last year, profits from other business activities still contributed positively, amounting to nearly VND2.3 trillion to the group's total income.
Operating expenses continued to be tightly controlled, with the cost-to-income ratio (CIR) in Q3 reaching 31% - a very optimal level for a retail banking model.
At the end of Q3/2026, ACB's customer loans reached VND765 trillion, an increase of approximately 11.5% compared to the beginning of the year. The main growth driver continues to come from the corporate customer segment in key sectors such as trade and manufacturing, in line with the credit orientation serving production and business and the State Bank of Vietnam's policy.
Meanwhile, the retail and SME segments maintained positive growth in the third quarter, reaching 2.2% and 2.8% respectively, compared to the overall average of 2.7% for the quarter.
Deposit mobilization continued to maintain positive growth, ensuring capital for lending activities. By the end of the third quarter of 2026, total deposits reached over VND807 trillion, an increase of 12.3% compared to the beginning of the year. Of this, customer deposits reached over VND596 trillion, an increase of 3.4% in the third quarter alone, amidst gradually easing liquidity pressure in the market.
The CASA ratio remained stable at around 22%, with CASA balances increasing by 2% in Q3, thereby contributing to optimizing funding costs and supporting the bank's Net Interest Margin (NIM) reaching 3.08% in Q3.
Notably, in Q3/2026, ACB secured an international syndicated loan totaling US$500 million from leading global financial institutions.
The non-performing loan (NPL) ratio at ACB was approximately 1.04%, remaining among the safest and most prudent banks in the industry. However, in the context of macroeconomic market conditions facing significant liquidity pressures and persistently high interest rates, which caused NPLs influenced by the Credit Information Center (CIC) to increase by over 40% in Q3 alone, the NPL ratio including CIC at ACB is currently at 1.18%.
Although provision expenses in the third quarter decreased by nearly 12% compared to the previous quarter, ACB's management stated that the bank will continue to maintain a cautious stance in the fourth quarter, focusing on closely monitoring asset quality, controlling bad debts, and proactively making provisions to strengthen the risk buffer. Currently, ACB's non-performing loan coverage ratio is 104%, while the coverage ratio including bad debts classified by CIC is 91%.
