Friday, October 30,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - At the end of Q3/2026, Saigon - Hanoi Securities Joint Stock Company (SHS) recorded operating revenue of VND1,002 billion, a 23% increase compared to the same period last year.
Unlike the strong growth of Q3/2025, the market in Q3/2026 faced downward pressure and a significant decline in liquidity. The VN-Index closed the quarter at 1,768.62 points, down 4.9% compared to the end of Q2, while it increased by 20.76% in the same period last year. The average trading value on the three exchanges HOSE, HNX, and UPCoM reached VND18,625 billion/session, down 57.6% compared to the same period last year and down 22.7% compared to the previous quarter, creating general pressure on the business operations of securities companies.
Against this backdrop, investment in financial assets continues to be a major contributor to SHS's revenue. Investment revenue reached VND565.5 billion in the third quarter, a 43.5% increase year-on-year. Revenue from margin lending and receivables reached VND341.1 billion, a 33.3% increase year-on-year. SHS's securities brokerage revenue remained at VND71.9 billion.
Regarding profit, SHS recorded pre-tax profit of VND250.8 billion in the third quarter, and a cumulative profit of VND620.5 billion for the first nine months.
As of September 30, 2026, SHS's total assets reached VND29,053.8 billion, an increase of over VND6,000 billion, equivalent to 26.1%, compared to the beginning of the year, reflecting the continued expansion of its operations.
SHS is gradually realizing its development strategy until 2030, shifting from a model primarily based on transactions to a full-service wealth management model. The initial results of this shift are clearly reflected in the business structure. The proportion of stocks in total assets decreased from approximately 31% at the beginning of the year to approximately 12% as of September 30, 2026, while outstanding loans increased from VND9,098 billion to VND12,435 billion during the same period.
In the investment banking segment, financial advisory revenue in the first nine months of 2026 reached VND75.7 billion, an increase of approximately 171% compared to the same period; revenue from underwriting and securities issuance agency reached VND10.8 billion, compared to nearly VND0.6 billion in the same period of the previous year. Total revenue from the two business groups reached VND86.5 billion, three times higher than the same period last year, marking positive development for the corporate finance services group, in line with SHS's orientation to enhance its investment banking capabilities.
