 Monday, October 26,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Lam Dong's vegetable and fruit export turnover in October 2026 is estimated at US$49.8 million, an increase of 292.13% compared to the same period last year.

Agricultural products create a bright spot in export
On October 19th, Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province announced that export activities in the province in October 2026 continued to record many positive signs, with a total export value estimated at 317 million USD, an increase of 11.95% compared to the same period last year. Notably, group of vegetables, tubers and fruits experienced a surge in growth, contributing to the bright spot in local export activities.
According to Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province, export value of vegetables, tubers and fruits in October 2026 is estimated at 49.8 million USD, an increase of 292.13% compared to the same period last year. Along with that, green coffee beans continued to play a major role in contributing to export value, with an estimated value of 62.8 million USD, an increase of 46.63%.
Several other items also recorded positive growth. Of that total, pepper export reached approximately US$13.7 million, an increase of 8.73%; footwear exports reached US$18.5 million, an increase of 17.09% compared to the same period.
These results show that agricultural products continue to make a significant contribution to the province's international trade. In particular, increase in vegetables, tubers and fruits opens up more opportunities for local agricultural production, processing and export businesses to expand their markets.
However, export picture remains differentiated among product groups. In October 2026, export value of alumina and aluminum hydroxide was estimated at US$42.3 million, a decrease of 13.62%; seafood at US$20.9 million, a decrease of 3.02%; and cashew kernels at US$20.1 million, a decrease of 4.74%.
Notably, garments and textile materials only reached approximately US$18.9 million, a decrease of 62.12%; fresh flowers of all kinds reached US$7.7 million, a decrease of 21.43% compared to the same period last year.
Contrasting trends between product groups highlight need for businesses to proactively adapt to fluctuating demand, update technical standards of import markets and diversify partners to maintain orders and enhance competitiveness.
Increasing connections and expanding international markets
In response to need to expand export markets, Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province continues to implement activities to provide market information, promote trade and support businesses in connecting with foreign partners.
In October, information about Lai Chau International Trade Fair 2026 and Trade Promotion Conference with system of Vietnamese Trade Offices abroad was disseminated to businesses in the area. Simultaneously, Department of Industry and Trade updated information on operations at Chinese border gates during National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, helping import-export businesses be more proactive in planning goods delivery and minimizing risk of customs clearance delays.
In addition, information on cooperation between Lam Dong and Canada, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Turkey, Indonesia and Vietnamese business community in Europe continued to be updated to expand trade opportunities.
For industrial goods, Department of Industry and Trade also forwarded information on draft technical standards of the Philippines for aluminum to the Provincial Business Association and relevant production and export units, thereby helping businesses proactively monitor and prepare plans to meet market requirements.
Local product promotion activities are maintained through online channels such as Facebook “Dalat export” and LinkedIn “Dalatproducts”, combined with connecting with the Vietnamese Trade Offices abroad and providing information to businesses via email and the Zalo social network.
In coming period, Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province will continue to implement trade promotion programs, fairs, exhibitions and seminars both domestically and internationally according to the 2026 plan; and at the same time support businesses in finding partners and expanding their markets. These are important factors for Lam Dong's agricultural products to leverage their advantages, increase their value and maintain their competitiveness in the international market.
