AsemconnectVietnam - In addition to its production and business activities at existing power plants, Power Generation Corporation 3 - JSC (EVNGENCO3, HoSE: PGV) is continuing to implement investment procedures and promote cooperation in developing new power sources, focusing on expanded hydropower, solar power, LNG gas power, and flexible power.

According to a recent Investor Newsletter, floating solar power projects on the Buôn Kuốp and Srêpốk 3 hydropower reservoirs have been included in the revised Power Plan VIII and the Implementation Plan for the revised Power Plan VIII. Specifically, the solar power project on the Buôn Kuốp hydropower reservoir has received investment approval from the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, along with investor approval, scheduled for July 2026. Recently, EVNGENCO3 approved the capital contribution to establish a new legal entity, Trust Cooperation Energy Co., Ltd., to implement a solar power project on the Buôn Kuốp hydropower reservoir in Lâm Đồng province.
In the hydropower sector, EVNGENCO3 is currently carrying out procedures for approving investment policies and investors for the Buôn Kuốp expansion and Srêpốk 3 expansion projects. For the Ninh Bình Flexible Power Plant, the EVNGENCO3 – Thuan Hai joint venture has met the requirements at the expression of interest stage, and the local authorities are currently reviewing the application for investor approval.
Parallel to the development of new power sources, EVNGENCO3's electricity production activities maintained growth. In the first eight months of 2026, total electricity production reached 19.615 billion kWh, an increase of 9.2% compared to the same period and completing nearly 64% of the annual plan. The parent company's electricity production revenue is estimated at VND32,130 billion, an increase of 7.1% and achieving 68.1% of the annual plan. In the most recently announced operational plan, EVNGENCO3 aims to produce 2.168 billion kWh of electricity in September 2026, while focusing on ensuring fuel supply, improving the readiness of generating units, and carrying out major repairs at Phu My and Mong Duong.
According to the Q2/2026 financial report, EVNGENCO3 recorded revenue in the first half of 2026 reaching VND25,326.87 billion, an increase of 12.4% compared to the same period; after-tax profit reached VND2,174.6 billion, an increase of 122.3% compared to the same period. The gross profit margin improved from 12.5% to 12.9%.
