Vinatex (VGT) reaches VND1,470 billion profit in 9 months, exceeding annual plan by 6.5%

 Tuesday, October 13,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex, ticker VGT) announced that in the first nine months, consolidated revenue is estimated at VND15,501 billion, a 6.8% increase year-on-year and achieving 72.3% of the annual plan; consolidated pre-tax profit reached approximately VND1,470 billion, a 40.7% increase and exceeding the annual plan by 6.5%.

At the Parent Company, 9-month revenue is estimated at VND1,598 billion, achieving 57.1% of the annual plan; pre-tax profit reached VND336.6 billion, a growth of 218.7% year-on-year and exceeding the plan by 29.5%.
The Yarn sector was a standout in the 9-month business results, with revenue reaching VND6,661 billion, a 15.9% increase compared to the same period last year and achieving 78.1% of the annual plan; profit reached VND381.8 billion, exceeding the plan by 52.1% and increasing by 168.1% compared to the same period in 2025.
Efficiency improved across the entire system, with all 12/12 Yarn units reporting positive profits in the 9 months. According to Vinatex, this result stems from the stable operation of the system, improved management capacity, and effective utilization of the difference between yarn selling prices and raw material prices. Improvements in production management alone contributed approximately 27% of the profit.
However, Vinatex assesses that the advantage in selling price margins versus raw material prices is unlikely to be repeated in the future, while efficiency among units still varies. This will be one of the challenges for the textile industry as it enters 2027.
Meanwhile, the garment industry continues to be the largest contributor to the Group's profits. In the first nine months of the year, consolidated revenue reached VND5,853 billion, an increase of 2.7% compared to the same period last year; pre-tax profit reached VND679.2 billion, with a pre-tax profit margin of 11.6%, higher than the 10% target for the year.
However, profit margins among garment units are not uniform and tend to face pressure. Revenue continues to increase, but profit margins are continuously decreasing, reflecting pressure from unit prices, costs, and production efficiency, especially for small, high-demand orders.
Following the positive results in the first nine months, Vinatex's main task in the fourth quarter of 2026 is to maintain the achieved efficiency, control emerging factors, and complete the annual plan. Simultaneously, Vinatex began preparing assumptions for its 2027 business plan, closely monitoring US tariff policies and developments in the textile and garment market.
Vinatex aims to continue maintaining profit growth in 2027, but the focus is not on pursuing scale but rather on enhancing profitability from core operations, reducing dependence on temporary market factors such as the price margin advantage of the yarn industry in 2026.
