AsemconnectVietnam - The statistics figures from Vietnam Customs showed that, the country's fruit and vegetable import value reached US$270 million in August of 2026, a decrease of 0.3% from July of 2026 but an increase of 18.8% year-on-year.

The import value in the first eight months of 2026 reached US$2.1 billion, up by 26.5% compared to the same period of 2025.
China continued to be the largest supplier of fruits and vegetables to Vietnam in August of 2026, with an import value of US$136.3 million, up by 11.4% from the previous month and 63.6% year-on-year. The accumulated figure for the first eight months of 2026 reached US$867.1 million, a 51.1% increase year-on-year, accounting for 40.9% of the country's total fruit and vegetable import value.
The United States was the second largest supplier, with an import value of US$47.5 million in August of 2026; a 6% decrease from the previous month but a 42.9% increase year-on-year. The accumulated value reached US$501.5 million, up by 29.8%, accounting for 23.6% of the total import value.
Australia ranked third with an import value of US$17.7 million, up by 9.3% from the previous month but down by 19.2% compared to August of 2025; the accumulated value reached US$136.7 million, up by 31.6%, accounting for 6.4% of the country's total fruit and vegetable import value.
Overall, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable import market continued to expand in the first eight months of 2026. While the supply sources were relatively diverse, they remained concentrated primarily in China and the United States. The rise in imports from these two markets, alongside positive growth from other sources, indicated that Vietnam's demand for supplementing its fruit and vegetable supplies from international markets remained strong throughout 2026.
