Da Nang is ramping up efforts to connect its human resources, technology, and capital with Silicon Valley as digital transformation increasingly dictates global and urban competitiveness.
During a working trip to the US, a municipal delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, attended the “Da Nang - Silicon Valley Innovation & Expert Network” seminar on September 21.
Co-organized by the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center and Janus Capital, the event convened Vietnamese experts, entrepreneurs, and global investors operating in Silicon Valley to explore direct cooperation in tech trends, workforce development, and infrastructure.
During the panel sessions, international investors highlighted Da Nang’s potential as an emerging technology hub while emphasizing the need to ensure electricity supply sources, and prepare data centers and advanced cooling technologies tailored for artificial intelligence operations. Investors also recommended streamlining investment procedures to attract major tech corporations to build research and development and service centers in the city.
Delving into AI trends, particularly real-time data analytics, experts urged Da Nang to accelerate AI skill training across its workforce. They advised deploying tailored AI solutions in sectors where the city holds structural advantages, such as tourism, services, agriculture, and urban management, while building a favorable environment to attract international talent and foster startup research.
Regarding semiconductors, specialists recommended aligning university curricula with industry demand, increasing practical lab research, and strengthening triple-helix linkages among the government, enterprises, and academic institutions for internships and commissioned research.
The seminar concluded with concrete collaboration agreements aimed at linking technology development directly to Da Nang’s practical requirements. The Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center signed and exchanged Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with several key Silicon Valley partners to bolster its global reach.
Among the signatories, Cyfendo, Inc. will support artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and AI-driven application security solutions, while Janus Capital brings expertise in technology investment and international business cooperation.
Additionally, cross-border investment promoter TBH Global and the Patrick Long Family Office agreed to provide strategic advisory, financial backing, and direct connections to global startup ecosystems.
These strategic agreements are expected to expand Da Nang’s innovation ecosystem, providing local startups and tech enterprises with direct access to global capital, technical expertise, and international markets.
