Vietnam’s exports to Spain saw growth in first 8 months of 2026

 Tuesday, September 22,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's goods exports to Spain reached US$3.34 billion in the first eight months of 2026, an increase of 17.37% compared to the same period of 2025.

In August 2026 alone, the export turnover hit US$524.22 million, up by 9.69% from July and surging by 43.74% year-on-year.
This growth was driven by a strong surge in processed manufacturing and high-tech goods. Computers, electronic products, and components led the way, with eight-month turnover reaching US$364.97 million, a 126.61% increase year-on-year. Similarly, the exports of machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts exceeded US$219.11 million (up by 83.37%); toys and sports equipment surpassed US$111.16 million (up by 186.9%); and transport vehicles and parts exceeded US$121.41 million (up by 63.1%). This growth stems from demands for digital transformation and infrastructure modernization, alongside global supply chain shifts that have enabled Vietnamese enterprises to meet the European Union's (EU) stringent standards while effectively leveraging tariff preferences under the EVFTA.
Te traditional consumer goods, which are Vietnam's established strengths, maintained significant volume and stability. Textiles and garments continued to lead in value at US$440.79 million, a slight increase of 3.33%. The exports of various types of phones and components reached US$347.07 million (up by 0.04%), while footwear exports exceeded US$377.21 million (up by 5.75%). The agricultural and aquatic product sector also saw positive growth, reaching US$64.08 million (up by 23.32%); specifically, cashew nuts reached over US$59.39 million (up by 19.61%) and pepper exceeded US$19.6 million (up by 21.98%), driven by improved product quality and rising demand for sustainable food products in Spain.
Conversely, certain agricultural products and raw materials experienced declines during the first eight months of the year. Coffee exports, despite a substantial volume valued at over US$424.59 million, fell by 12.96%; iron and steel products dropped sharply by 34.05% to US$124.04 million; rubber fell by 29.18%; and rice declined by 20.26%. These declines were primarily caused by fluctuations in global agricultural commodity prices, intense competition from other suppliers, volatile logistics costs, and strict EU technical barriers regarding environmental standards and carbon emissions.
