Viet Nam treasures friendly relations with Thailand: Prime Minister Le Minh Hung
Thursday, September 17,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - Viet Nam treasures its friendly relations with Thailand, a close neighboring country, an important partner, and a fellow partner in the region, reiterated Prime Minister Le Minh Hung during his meeting with Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua in Ha Noi on Tuesday.
Le proposed that the two sides continue to maintain the exchange of all-level delegations and contacts, and join hands to effectively implement the action program for the implementation of the Viet Nam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for 2026–2031, which was signed in recent May.
The host called for stronger promotion of trade and investment cooperation, as well as collaboration between ministries, sectors, and localities to create breakthroughs in connectivity between the two economies.
He hailed the positive contributions of Thai businesses in Viet Nam, pledging to create favorable conditions for Thai enterprises to invest and operate effectively in the country.
Le suggested the King and the Thai Royal Family continue to support Vietnamese businesses operating in Thailand, thereby strengthening business-to-business connectivity, promoting two-way investment cooperation, and deepening economic ties.
He urged the two nations to closely collaborate within ASEAN, Mekong mechanisms, and multilateral forums, particularly in promoting connectivity, narrowing development gaps, and enhancing the region's resilience in the face of emerging challenges.
The King of Thailand, for his part, expressed his impressions on Viet Nam's comprehensive development in recent years and spoke highly of the role of the two Governments in fostering comprehensive cooperation.
He expected that his visit would contribute to further expanding people-to-people exchanges, cultural and educational cooperation, tourism, and connectivity between localities; enhancing mutual understanding and bonds of friendship between their peoples; and creating a stronger and more sustainable foundation for Viet Nam-Thailand relations in the years ahead.
Both sides exchanged views on boosting cooperation in areas such as science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
The two leaders expressed their confidence that building on the foundation of friendship and trust that the two countries have diligently cultivated over the past 50 years, the bilateral relations will continue to develop towards a profound, substantive, and sustainable manner, bringing practical benefits to their peoples while making positive contributions to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region./.
