AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s electronics export turnover to North America reached $44.39 billion (up by 43% year-on-year), led by the United States ($40.68 billion), Mexico ($2.39 billion), and Canada ($1.31 billion).
This remarkable growth stems from the wave of global supply chain shifts and the booming demand for technology infrastructure and AI in the North American market.
According to the customs data, in the first seven months of 2026, Vietnam's electronics exports to North American markets totaled $44.39 billion, a 43% increase year-on-year and a substantial 225.41% rise compared to the same period of 2021. The United States was the largest destination during this period, accounting for $40.68 billion (up by 41.76% year-on-year and 232.63% compared to 2021). This represented 91.65% of the total export value for this category to North America, a slight decrease from the 92.46% share recorded in the same period of 2025, but an increase from the 87.82% share seen in 2021.
The growth of Vietnam's electronics exports to North America during the first seven months of 2026 was driven by several fundamental factors. The primary driver was the strong wave of global supply chain shifts, which has positioned Vietnam as a leading hub for the manufacturing and assembly of computers, electronic components, and telecommunications equipment. Furthermore, the surging demand for technology infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI) in North America has generated a massive volume of orders. The United States remained the largest market, accounting for 91.65% of the total; this reflects the economy's immense purchasing power as well as the benefits derived from the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The exports to Mexico ranked second, reaching US$2.39 billion, an increase of 73.98% compared to the same period of 2025 and 124.08% compared to the same period of 2021. This market accounted for 5.40% of total exports of this product category to North America, representing an expansion from the 4.44% share recorded in the same period of 2025, though a contraction from the 7.84% share seen in the same period of 2021.
The exports to Canada reached US$1.31 billion, up by 35.83% from the same period of 2025 and 121.07% from the same period of 2021. This market accounted for 2.95% of the total export value for this product group, representing a shift from the 3.11% share in the same period of 2025 and a contraction from the 4.35% share in the same period of 2021.
