MHC's losses increase after auditing the first half of 2026 due to missing losses from associated companies

AsemconnectVietnam - MHC Joint Stock Company (MHC - HOSE) recorded a loss of VND35.37 billion and a negative cash flow of VND126.16 billion in the first half of 2026.
MHC announced its audited first half-year financial report for 2026, audited by UHY Auditing and Consulting Company Limited. After the audit, the after-tax profit showed a loss of VND35.37 billion compared to a pre-audit loss of VND28.11 billion, an increase of VND7.26 billion.
MHC explained that the increase in losses after the audit was due to the omission of losses from associated companies in the Q2/2026 financial report.
For the first half of 2026, MHC recorded revenue of VND71.15 million, a decrease of 98.8% compared to the same period last year. Net profit after tax recorded a loss of VND35.37 billion compared to a profit of VND22.12 billion in the same period, a decrease of VND57.49 billion. MHC also sold below cost, resulting in a gross loss of VND27.99 million.
In addition to the business losses, in the first half of 2026, MHC also recorded a negative cash flow from operations of VND126.16 billion compared to a negative VND7.53 billion in the same period. Furthermore, during the same period, cash flow from investments was positive VND 135.3 billion and cash flow from financing was positive VND34.5 billion.
As of June 30, 2026, MHC recorded total assets of VND694.2 billion. Of this, trading securities alone amounted to VND238.5 billion, accounting for 34.36% of total assets.
In fact, in the first half of 2026, the securities portfolio increased by 439.6% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND194.3 billion, reaching VND238.5 billion. Of this, the portfolio mainly consisted of VND92.4 billion in GEL shares, VND85.6 billion in EIB shares, VND40.4 billion in GEX shares, and VND20 billion in other stocks.
