Retail sales and consumer service revenue rise 13.1% in seven months

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue maintained positive growth momentum in seven months of 2026, increasing 13.1% year on year.

According to data recently released by the Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices in July 2026 were estimated at VND 669.1 trillion, up 0.9% from the previous month and 14.5% from the same period last year.
In seven months of 2026, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices were estimated at VND 4.5558 quadrillion, up 13.1% year on year. Excluding the price factor, the figure increased 7.5%, compared with growth of 7.4% in 2025.
Retail sales of goods during the seven-month period were estimated at VND 3.4412 quadrillion, accounting for 75.5% of the total and rising 12.7% year on year. Revenue from precious stones, precious metals and related products increased 28.2%; other goods, 18.8%; wood and construction materials and fuels of all kinds, 15.2% each; and other fuels excluding petrol and oil, 15.1%.
Compared with the same period last year, retail sales of goods in several localities recorded notable growth. Da Nang posted an increase of 14.2%; Quang Ninh, 14.0%; Hanoi and Can Tho, 12.9% each; Dong Nai, 12.8%; Hai Phong, 12.6%; and Ho Chi Minh City, 12.1%.
Revenue from accommodation and food services in the first seven months of 2026 was estimated at VND 580.6 trillion, accounting for 12.7% of the total and increasing 15.9% year on year.
Compared with the same period last year, revenue from accommodation and food services rose 20.4% in both Quang Ninh and Khanh Hoa; 20.0% in Da Nang; 19.3% in Lam Dong; 19.2% in Hue; 16.8% in Thanh Hoa; 15.8% in Hai Phong; 14.8% in Hanoi; 14.4% in Ho Chi Minh City; and 13.0% in Can Tho.
Travel service revenue during the seven-month period was estimated at VND 59.3 trillion, accounting for 1.3% of the total and increasing 16.3% year on year.
Compared with the same period last year, travel service revenue increased 39.6% in Lam Dong; 30.1% in Khanh Hoa; 28.5% in Hue; 26.4% in Quang Ninh; 21.0% in Lao Cai; 15.2% in Hanoi; 14.0% in Da Nang; and 13.9% in Ho Chi Minh City.
Revenue from other services in the first seven months of 2026 was estimated at VND 474.7 trillion, accounting for 10.4% of the total and rising 12.6% year on year.
Compared with the same period last year, revenue from other services increased 29.8% in Hue; 27.9% in Quang Ninh; 23.2% in Khanh Hoa; 20.8% in Gia Lai; 20.3% in Ninh Binh; 16.7% in Hai Phong, Nghe An and Dong Nai; 10.9% in Hanoi; and 9.3% in Ho Chi Minh City.
