Dong Nai Port (PDN): Reviewed half-year profit increases by 11.6%, reaching over VND250 billion

 Saturday, August 29,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Dong Nai Port Joint Stock Company (stock code PDN) has just released a report explaining the double-digit growth in after-tax profit in its 2026 half-year financial report after review.

Dong Nai Port stated that in its 2026 half-year financial report after review, total revenue reached over VND843.9 billion, an increase of 8.24% compared to the same period. Total expenses were over VND530.7 billion, an increase of 6.3%. After-tax profit reached over VND250.5 billion, an increase of 11.6% compared to the same period.
Explaining the double-digit profit growth, the company stated that in the first six months of the year, revenue increased by 8.24%, with operating revenue increasing by 9.2%, financial revenue increasing by 68.6%, and other operating revenue decreasing by 98.5%.
The increase in operating revenue in the first six months compared to the same period last year was due to the impact of fluctuations in the international shipping market on the company's production and business activities in the second quarter of 2026. From February 2026, conflicts in the Strait of Hormuz disrupted maritime operations, prolonging shipping times, and at times, maritime fuel prices increased by over 55%, leading to many shipping lines applying fuel surcharges and significantly increasing container freight rates on the Asia-US route.
In addition, competition for cargo among ports in the Ho Chi Minh City area and inland container depots (ICDs) intensified. Some policies related to transit goods have not been fully resolved, and some shipping lines are restricting changes to destination ports. Despite this, container throughput in the first six months of 2026 reached 100.42% compared to the same period last year.
However, the company has put into operation a 2-hectare empty container yard and items belonging to the Dong Nai Port expansion project, phases 2A and 2B, contributing to improving the port's operational capacity. The supply of alumina and goods from tenants at Go Dau Port remains stable. The volume of coal, limestone powder, silica sand, and chemicals has shown little fluctuation compared to the same period last year.
In addition, the company has expanded cooperation with waterway and road transport units and value-added service providers, contributing to improved service quality, better meeting customer needs, and increasing the volume of general cargo by 5.2% compared to the same period last year.
The above factors contributed to a 9.2% year-on-year increase in Dong Nai Port's operating revenue in the first six months of 2026.
Total expenses increased by 6.35%, including a 6.75% increase in cost of goods sold (mainly due to increased outsourced container shipping services), a 32.8% increase in selling expenses (mainly due to increased salaries, conference expenses, advertising, and commissions), but an 8.3% decrease in administrative expenses compared to the same period (reduced repair costs).
The overall increase in expenses was lower than the increase in revenue. For the first six months, Dong Nai Port's profit increased by 11.6% compared to the same period.
