AsemconnectVietnam - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang will attend the Viet Nam Leadership Program (VLP) and pay a working visit to the U.S. from August 24-28, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang told reporters on Thursday.
Pham said, the VLP, an initiative promoted by Columbia University in the U.S., builds on the Viet Nam Executive Leadership Program (VELP) previously organized at Harvard University.
As Viet Nam is actively implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Politburo's strategic resolutions with a view to successfully achieving the targets of double-digit economic growth.

This year, the program will focus on assessing the outlook for the global economy, notable developments, major transformation trends, and new drivers of growth, said the Spokesperson.
As part of his working trip, the Deputy Prime Minister is expected to hold meetings with a number of U.S. Administration agencies and engage with U.S. businesses and investors.
