 Thursday, August 13,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Viet Nam targets to master at least four strategic technologies included in the list of strategic technologies during 2026-2030 and raise the figure to six during 2031-2035.

This is part of the national program on science, technology, and innovation for strategic technologies approved recently by the Government.
From now to 2030, the Southeast Asian nation aims to develop and commercialize at least 15 strategic technology products included in the list of strategic technology products, including five commercialized in regional or international markets, thereby helping increase localization rates and integrate into global value chains.
Under the program, Viet Nam will achieve an average localization rate of around 40 percent for commercialized strategic technology products.
At least 20 enterprises capable of mastering strategic technologies and strategic technology products will be formed, including five those with strategic technology products participating in global value chains.
For the 2031–2035 period, Viet Nam aims to develop and commercialize 25 strategic technology products, including 15 commercialized in regional or international markets.
The number of enterprises capable of mastering strategic technologies and strategic technology products is expected to increase to at least 30.
To achieve these objectives, the program identifies five key tasks and solutions as follows:
(i) Improving mechanisms and policies;
(ii) Conducting research and developing strategic technology products;
(iii) Supporting the commercialization and market development of strategic technology products;
(iv) Developing human resources and promoting international cooperation;
(v) Monitoring, evaluating, and coordinating the implementation of the program./.
