Minh Phu Seafood (MPC) recorded VND415.4 billion profit and a negative cash flow of VND390.7 billion in 6 months

AsemconnectVietnam - Minh Phu Seafood Group Joint Stock Company (MPC – UPCoM) recorded a profit of VND194.5 billion in the second quarter, bringing the cumulative profit for the first half of 2026 to VND415.4 billion, an increase of 127.5% compared to the same period last year and achieving 42.6% of the annual plan.
In the second quarter of 2026, Minh Phu Seafood recorded revenue of VND3,952.1 billion, an increase of 9.1% compared to the same period last year; after-tax profit reached VND194.5 billion, an increase of 17.9% compared to the same period last year. The profit margin improved from 11.9% to 16.4%.
During the period, gross profit increased by 50.4% year-on-year, equivalent to an increase of VND217.6 billion, reaching VND649.6 billion; financial revenue decreased by 68.4%, equivalent to a decrease of VND25.2 billion, to VND11.6 billion; financial expenses decreased by 18.3%, equivalent to a decrease of VND14 billion, to VND62.7 billion; selling and administrative expenses increased by 73.4%, equivalent to an increase of VND163.2 billion, to VND385.5 billion.
Cumulatively in the first half of 2026, Minh Phu Seafood recorded revenue of VND7,554.9 billion, an increase of 16.8% year-on-year; after-tax profit reached VND415.4 billion, an increase of 127.5% year-on-year.
In 2026, Minh Phu Seafood plans to achieve revenue of VND19,892.1 billion and projected net profit of VND974.4 billion.
Thus, ending the first half of 2026 with after-tax profit reaching VND415.38 billion, Minh Phu Seafood has completed 42.6% of its annual plan.
Contrary to the business growth, in the first half of 2026, Minh Phu Seafood recorded a negative cash flow of VND390.7 billion compared to a positive cash flow of VND196.2 billion in the same period. Furthermore, during the same period, the investment cash flow was negative VND728.1 billion and the financing cash flow was positive VND1,221.8 billion, mainly due to increased borrowing.
Regarding assets, as of June 30, 2026, Minh Phu Seafood's total assets increased by 14.3% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND1,598.5 billion, reaching VND12,803.2 billion. Of this, the main assets recorded were VND6,146.5 billion in inventory, accounting for 48% of total assets; VND2,463.5 billion in fixed assets, accounting for 19.2% of total assets; VND1,440.7 billion in short-term receivables, accounting for 11.3% of total assets; VND1,217.6 billion in long-term work-in-progress, accounting for 9.5% of total assets; and other items.
During the period, the main asset change was inventory, which increased by 25.5% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND1,250 billion, reaching VND6,146.5 billion. In addition to the increase in inventory, the provision for inventory devaluation also increased from VND69.4 billion to VND109.99 billion.
Furthermore, regarding capital sources, as of the end of the second quarter, Minh Phu Seafood's total short-term and long-term debt increased by 27.1% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND1,253 billion, reaching VND5,881.9 billion and equaling 103.5% of total equity (at the beginning of the year, outstanding debt was VND4,629 billion and equal to 86.4% of total equity). Of this, short-term debt was VND5,717.2 billion and long-term debt was VND164.7 billion.
