Nam Kim Steel (NKG) reports VND102.68 billion profit in Q2/2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Company (NKG - HOSE) recorded a profit of VND102.68 billion in the second quarter, bringing the cumulative profit for the first half of 2026 to VND124.14 billion, achieving 47% of the annual plan.
In the second quarter of 2026, Nam Kim Steel recorded revenue of VND4,150.21 billion, a 9% increase compared to the same period last year; after-tax profit reached VND102.68 billion compared to a loss of VND2.72 billion in the same period last year, an increase of VND105.4 billion. The gross profit margin improved from 7.1% to 10.5%.
During the period, revenue increased and gross profit margins improved, with Nam Kim Steel recording a 61.9% increase in gross profit, equivalent to an increase of VND167.05 billion, reaching VND437.07 billion.
Also during the period, financial revenue decreased by VND60.9 billion, to a loss of VND0.54 billion (compared to VND60.36 billion in the same period last year); financial expenses decreased by 44.7%, equivalent to a decrease of VND64.29 billion, to VND79.4 billion; selling and administrative expenses increased by 15.2%, equivalent to an increase of VND25.63 billion, reaching VND194.22 billion.
Cumulatively in the first half of 2026, Nam Kim Steel recorded revenue of VND7,411.62 billion, a decrease of 6.2% compared to the same period last year; after-tax profit reached VND124.14 billion, an increase of 98.1% compared to the same period last year.
In 2026, Nam Kim Steel approved a business plan with total revenue of VND22,000 billion and pre-tax profit of VND400 billion, representing increases of 47.7% and 66.7% respectively compared to 2025.
Thus, by the end of the first half of 2026, with pre-tax profit reaching VND188.1 billion, Nam Kim Steel had completed 47% of its annual plan.
Regarding asset size, as of June 30, 2026, Nam Kim Steel's total assets increased by 12.5% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND2,054.9 billion, reaching VND18,454.5 billion. Of this, the main assets are VND 5,704.1 billion in inventory, accounting for 30.9% of total assets; and VND5,148.6 billion in long-term work-in-progress assets, accounting for 27.9% of total assets. VND3,290.2 billion in cash and short-term financial investments, accounting for 17.8% of total assets; VND1,762.4 billion in fixed assets, accounting for 9.55% of total assets.
During the period, long-term work-in-progress assets increased by 15.9% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND705.6 billion, reaching VND5,148.6 billion.
In addition, regarding capital sources, as of the end of Q2, Nam Kim Steel's total short-term and long-term debt increased by 24.6% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND1,687.32 billion, reaching VND8,554.4 billion and equaling 111.8% of total equity. Of which, short-term debt was VND6,208.3 billion and long-term debt was VND2,346.1 billion.
