Thursday, August 6,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - According to data from the Customs Department, in the first six months of 2026, Vietnam's electronics exports to North American markets reached US$36.59 billion, an increase of 42.13% compared to the same period of 2025 and a significant increase of 219.19% compared to the same period of 2021.
In the first six months of 2026, Vietnam’s exports the most to the United States, reached US$33.61 billion, an increase of 40.90% compared to the same period of 2025 and a 233.69% increase compared to the same period of 2021. This accounted for 91.86% of the total export value of this product group to the North American market, narrowing compared to the 92.66% share in the same period of 2025 and expanding compared to the 87.87% share in the same period of 2021.
The impressive growth in Vietnam's electronics exports to North America in the first six months of 2026 compared to the same period of 2025 and compared to the same period of 2021 was the result of the convergence of many fundamental factors related to the supply chain, market opportunities, and foreign relations.
The exports to Mexico ranked second, reaching US$1.94 billion, an increase of 74.89% compared to the same period of 2025 and 123.22% compared to the same period of 2021, accounting for 5.32% of the total export value of this product to the North American market. This represents an expansion compared to 4.33% in the same period of 2025, but a contraction compared to 7.61% in the same period of 2021.
The exports to Canada reached US$1.03 billion, an increase of 32.79% compared to the same period of 2025 and 99.00% compared to the same period of 2021, accounting for 2.82% of the total export value of this product group. This represents an expansion compared to 3.02% in the same month of 2025 and a contraction of 4.52% in the same month of 2021.
In July, the country’s export value of electronics to North America was estimated to continue its positive growth. This was the time when retailers and technology corporations begin to ramp up inventory to serve the back-to-school shopping season and prepare for the peak holiday season at the end of the year. The divergence between the two product groups will continue; of which computers and electronic components will continue to be the growth engine thanks to abundant technology infrastructure orders; while phones and components may see a slight increase or maintain a sideways trend to accumulate stock in anticipation of new flagship launches at the end of the third quarter.
