MHC recorđe a loss of VND28.11 billion in the first 6 months of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - MHC Joint Stock Company (code MHC - HOSE) recorded a loss of VND27.12 billion in the second quarter, with a cumulative loss of VND 28.11 billion in the first half of 2026.

In the second quarter of 2026, MHC recorded revenue of VND0.07 billion, a decrease of 99.8% compared to the same period; after-tax profit was a loss of VND27.12 billion compared to a profit of VND37.45 billion in the same period, a decrease of VND64.57 billion.
During the period, MHC operated below cost, recording a gross loss of VND30 million compared to a loss of VND2.8 billion in the same period.
Financial revenue decreased by 99% compared to the same period, a decrease of VND57.53 billion, to VND2.72 billion; Financial expenses increased by 154.3%, equivalent to an increase of VND15.73 billion, reaching VND 25.92 billion; business management expenses increased by 11.2%, equivalent to an increase of VND0.42 billion, reaching VND4.17 billion.
Thus, in the second quarter, in addition to operating below cost, MHC also faced pressure from high financial expenses and a shortfall in financial revenue, resulting in a loss of VND27.12 billion.
Cumulatively in the first half of 2026, MHC recorded revenue of VND0.07 billion (no revenue in the first quarter), a decrease of 99.8% compared to the same period last year; after-tax profit recorded a loss of VND28.11 billion compared to a profit of VND 22.12 billion in the same period, a decrease of VND50.23 billion.
In 2026, MHC plans for total revenue of VND200 billion, a decrease of 50.1% compared to 2025, and projected pre-tax profit of only VND40 billion, a decrease of 79.7% compared to the same period last year.
With a pre-tax loss of VND28.1 billion in the first half of 2026, MHC is still far from achieving its profit target for 2026.
Besides operating losses, in the first half of 2026, MHC also recorded a negative operating cash flow of VND126.2 billion compared to a negative VND7.5 billion in the same period. Furthermore, during the same period, investment cash flow was positive VND135.3 billion and financing cash flow was positive VND34.5 billion.
Regarding assets, as of June 30, 2026, MHC's total assets decreased by 7% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to a decrease of VND52.6 billion, to VND694.2 billion. Of this, the main assets were VND400.9 billion in cash and short-term financial investments, accounting for 57.7% of total assets; VND120.2 billion in investment properties, accounting for 17.31% of total assets; and VND65 billion in long-term financial investments, accounting for 9.36% of total assets.
During the period, securities investments increased by 439.6% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND194.3 billion, reaching VND238.5 billion and accounting for 34.4% of total assets. Long-term financial investments decreased by 76.7% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to a decrease of VND214.2 billion to VND65 billion…
MHC explained its securities portfolio, including VND85.6 billion in EIB shares, with a provision of VND2.38 billion; VND92.4 billion in GEL shares, with a provision of VND2.52 billion; VND40.42 billion in GEX shares; and the remaining VND20 billion invested in other stocks.
