AsemconnectVietnam - At the end of the first six months of 2026, Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) recorded a pre-tax profit of VND9,092 billion, completing 51% of the annual plan. Charter capital increased to VND53,442 billion.
SHB has just announced its business results for the second quarter and the first six months of 2026 with many positive growth indicators. Cumulative pre-tax profit reached VND9,092 billion, equivalent to 51% of the 2026 annual plan approved by the General Shareholders' Meeting.
SHB's total net income in the first six months reached VND17,192 billion, an increase compared to the same period last year. Of this, net profit from service activities reached VND3,825 billion, an increase of 277%, continuing the growth trend recorded since Q1/2026.
Alongside income growth, operational efficiency continues to be a highlight. SHB's cost-to-income ratio (CIR) is maintained at 16%, an improvement compared to the same period in 2025 and continues to be among the lowest in the banking industry.
As of June 30, 2026, SHB's total assets reached VND962,667 billion, an increase of 8% compared to the end of 2025, continuing to approach the target of VND1 trillion in total assets. Total market I deposits reached VND687,843 billion, an increase of 7% compared to the end of the previous year.
The liquidity reserve ratio reached 17.05%, higher than the minimum level of 10%. The loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) is at 80.6%, lower than the 85% ceiling. Outstanding credit reached VND664,280 billion, an increase of 7.22% compared to the end of 2025.
In parallel with credit expansion, SHB continues to focus on controlling asset quality. The non-performing loan ratio, as stipulated by the State Bank of Vietnam as of June 30, 2026, is controlled at 1.76%.
SHB's operational safety ratios continue to be maintained above the required thresholds. As of June 30, 2026, the consolidated capital adequacy ratio (CAR) reached approximately 12%, higher than the current minimum of 8%.
SHB has issued over 750 million shares, increasing its charter capital to VND53,442 billion.
Following the State Bank of Vietnam's approval of the legal form conversion of SHBFinance, SHB and Krungsri – a member of Japan's MUFG Group – are carrying out procedures to complete the transfer of the remaining 50% of the charter capital in SHBFinance. The transaction is expected to be completed by mid-Q3 2026. Upon completion, the transaction is expected to supplement financial resources, continue cooperation with a major partner to develop retail banking, and support SHB in focusing more on core banking activities and long-term growth strategies.
Along with increasing its equity capital, SHB continues to diversify its funding sources through cooperation with international financial institutions. In 2025, the bank successfully raised two medium-term syndicated loans in USD based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, totaling US$600 million and involving 26 international financial institutions.
