VPBankS (VPX) achieves pre-tax profit of VND2,159 billion in Q2/2026

AsemconnectVietnam - VPBank Securities Joint Stock Company (VPBankS; HOSE: VPX) announced revenue of VND7,013 billion after 6 months, nearly four times higher than the same period last year, thanks to positive contributions from its core business segments.
In particular, margin lending activities generated VND1,904 billion, nearly three times higher than the same period last year and accounting for 27% of total revenue. In addition, brokerage revenue reached over VND260 billion, more than double the same period last year. The investment banking segment achieved outstanding results compared to the same period last year, contributing over VND1,176 billion in revenue. In the first two quarters of the year, VPBankS advised on the issuance of nearly VND19,000 billion in corporate bonds.
In the proprietary trading segment, by capitalizing on market developments, VPBankS's profit from financial assets recognized through profit/loss (FVTPL) reached VND3,461 billion, nearly double that of the same period last year.
Strong revenue growth boosted VPBankS's pre-tax profit in the first half of the year to VND2,673 billion, nearly three times higher than the same period last year, exceeding the plan set for the 6-month period; for Q2/2026 alone, profit reached VND2,159 billion, four times higher than the same period last year. With these results, VPBankS achieved a Return on Equity (ROE) of 14%.
As of the end of Q2/2026, the company's total assets reached nearly VND89,000 billion, an increase of 21.8% compared to the end of 2025, placing it among the leading securities companies.
Of that amount, outstanding margin loans and advances reached VND38,177 billion, an increase of 12% compared to the end of 2025. The company stated that there is still approximately VND33,000 billion in room to further expand margin lending activities.
VPBankS also recorded strong growth in brokerage market share. On the HoSE, the company achieved a market share of 3.57%, rising to Top 8; simultaneously ranking Top 3 on the HNX with 6.71% market share and Top 5 on UPCoM with 5.28%. In the guaranteed warrant (CW) market, VPBankS ranked among the Top 4 issuers with the highest liquidity, with 450 million units traded, corresponding to 12.4% market share.
The successful raising of a US$200 million international syndicated loan in the first half of 2026 provides a foundation for the company to accelerate in the second half of the year. In the second quarter, VPBank completed the acquisition of an 11% stake in a fund management company, marking a new step in its strategy to complete its asset management ecosystem.
