Quang Tri to tackle 55 delayed projects

 Monday, July 27,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to a report from the Department of Finance of Quang Tri province, the central province currently has 55 stalled or prolonged projects.

The People’s Committee of central Quang Tri province recently held a working session with various departments and agencies to address difficulties and bottlenecks hindering long-delayed projects across the province.
According to a report from the provincial Department of Finance, Quang Tri currently has 55 stalled or prolonged projects. Among these, 33 have been updated on the National Public Investment Database.
During the meeting, delegates focused on analyzing specific obstacles and proposed a range of solutions to expedite the processing of these stagnant projects.
Addressing the session, Mr. Hoang Nam, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, urged departments and sectors to focus on clearing bottlenecks and unlocking resources to accelerate project implementation. He emphasized that the resolution process must strictly adhere to legal regulations while simultaneously creating favorable conditions for eligible projects to proceed.
Relevant units were instructed to proactively research and flexibly apply central government mechanisms and policies to resolve existing bottlenecks and create development momentum. Furthermore, officials must strictly follow reporting protocols, providing timely updates on difficulties and proposing specific solutions.
The Vice Chairman also called for closer coordination between departments, agencies, and local authorities to improve work efficiency. He issued a stern warning against the practice of "buck-passing" or shifting and avoiding responsibility among officials.
To ensure results, Mr. Nam demanded that departments definitively resolve projects with long-standing complications, prioritizing those already listed on the national system. He required the development of detailed implementation plans based on the "five-clear" principle: clear people, clear tasks, clear timelines, clear responsibilities, and clear results.
Notably, the Department of Finance has been tasked with urgently advising the establishment of a Provincial Steering Committee, which will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and inspecting implementation to promptly resolve any arising issues and ensure all set goals and tasks are completed on schedule.
