Real estate leads Vietnam's M&A market with $322 mln in deals in June

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first six months of 2026, Vietnam's M&A market recording 126 announced transactions, with a combined disclosed value of $2.43 billion.
Real estate continued to be the standout sector in Vietnam's mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market in June 2026, leading in both the number and value of transactions.
According to Grant Thornton Vietnam, the country's M&A market recorded 33 announced transactions in June. Of these, 29 deals had disclosed or estimated transaction values, with a combined value of approximately $1 billion.
M&A activity was active across a wide range of sectors. In terms of deal volume, real estate ranked first with six transactions, followed by consumer goods with five deals, together accounting for around 33% of all transactions.
Technology, construction and engineering, financial services, and utilities each recorded three deals, collectively representing 36% of total transactions during the month.
Real estate also led in terms of transaction value, reaching $322.3 million, ahead of tourism and hospitality at $313.5 million. Together, the two sectors accounted for approximately 63% of total M&A transaction value in June.
In the first six months of 2026, Vietnam's M&A market recorded 126 announced transactions, with a combined disclosed value of $2.43 billion.
Compared with the same period last year, the number of transactions fell 20%, but the total disclosed or estimated transaction value increased 14% to nearly $2.5 billion. The average transaction value in the first half of 2026 stood at approximately $28 million.
