According to updates from the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment and Lua Gao Viet, IR 504 export-grade paddy rice traded at VND9,450-9,550 per kg, while CL 555 export-grade paddy rice was quoted at VND9,600-9,800 per kg. OM 5451 paddy rice traded at VND9,300-9,400 per kg, while raw rice for export stood at VND8,700-8,850 per kg. Dai Thom 8 paddy rice was quoted at VND9,200-9,400 per kg. OM 380 raw rice for export traded at VND7,500-7,600 per kg, while Soc Thom raw rice for export was also quoted at VND7,500-7,600 per kg. By-products were traded at around VND7,900-8,300 per kg. Fragrant broken rice was quoted at VND8,300-8,400 per kg, while rice bran traded at VND7,900-8,050 per kg. Market observations showed that rice arrivals at wholesale docks remained limited, although trading activity improved slightly. Prices of most rice varieties were largely unchanged. In An Giang Province, rice prices saw little movement.

In Lap Vo District of Dong Thap Province, arrivals at wholesale docks remained low. Warehouses purchased cautiously and were selective in sourcing rice, leaving prices broadly stable.

Retail rice prices were unchanged from the previous day. Nang Nhen rice remained the highest-priced variety at VND28,000 per kg, followed by Huong Lai rice at VND22,000 per kg. Thai long-grain fragrant rice traded at VND20,000-22,000 per kg, while Jasmine rice was quoted at VND16,000-17,000 per kg. Nang Hoa rice was sold at VND21,000 per kg, Dai Thom rice at VND15,000-15,500 per kg, ordinary white rice at VND16,000 per kg, ordinary rice at VND13,000-14,000 per kg, Soc rice at VND15,000-16,000 per kg, Soc Thai rice at VND20,000 per kg and Japanese rice at VND22,000 per kg.

Fresh paddy prices were also little changed. According to the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment, fresh Dai Thom 8 paddy traded at VND6,850-7,000 per kg, while fresh OM 5451 paddy was quoted at VND6,400-6,500 per kg. Fresh OM 18 paddy traded at VND6,800-7,000 per kg, fresh OM 34 paddy at VND6,100-6,300 per kg, and fresh IR 50404 paddy at VND6,100-6,200 per kg.

Market surveys showed demand for fragrant paddy remained weak, leaving prices largely steady. In Dong Thap Province, paddy prices showed a downward tendency as traders made few purchase inquiries.

In An Giang Province, buying demand increased slightly at the start of the week, supporting more active trading and steady fresh paddy prices. In Can Tho, Ca Mau, Vinh Long and Tay Ninh, farmers continued to hold out for higher prices, while traders made limited new purchase inquiries, leaving prices of most paddy varieties broadly stable.

Vietnam's export rice prices edged higher from the beginning of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), Jasmine rice was offered at US$546-550 per tonne, up US$2 per tonne. Five-percent broken fragrant rice was quoted at US$500-510 per tonne, while 100% broken fragrant rice traded at US$353-357 per tonne, up US$1 per tonne.

Following the completion of the Winter-Spring harvest, farmers across the Mekong Delta focused on tending and harvesting the early Summer-Autumn crop. Trading in fresh paddy remained slow, with prices showing little movement.

As of June 2026, Vietnam's total rice planting area was estimated at 4.57 million hectares, down 3.7% from the same period in 2025. Of the total, Winter-Spring rice accounted for 2.93 million hectares, down 1.3%, while the Summer-Autumn crop covered 1.64 million hectares, down 7.8%.

During the first six months of 2026, the average purchase price of 5% broken milled rice reached VND14,048 per kg, up VND1,644 per kg from the second half of 2025. Meanwhile, the average price of 25% broken rice stood at VND13,044 per kg, down VND74 per kg.

In Dong Thap Province, the price of 5% broken milled rice fell by VND60 per kg to VND14,022 per kg, while 25% broken rice declined by VND70 per kg to VND13,011 per kg. The retail price of IR 50404 rice fell by VND50 per kg to VND13,852 per kg, while IR 64 rice remained unchanged at VND14,500 per kg. In the premium segment, Jasmine rice fell by VND484 per kg to VND17,343 per kg, while Nang Thom rice rose by VND238 per kg to VND20,500 per kg. In An Giang Province, the retail price of ordinary white rice increased by VND544 per kg to VND12,837 per kg, while Jasmine rice declined by VND708 per kg to VND14,195 per kg.

According to Reuters, export rice prices across Asia's major suppliers trended higher in the second quarter of 2026. Export prices in Vietnam and Thailand increased on strong import demand from the Philippines. In contrast, Indian rice prices rose only modestly as inventories from the previous crop remained abundant, despite concerns that rainfall could affect production.

On average, Thailand's 5% broken rice price reached US$418 per tonne in the second quarter of 2026, up US$40 per tonne from the first quarter. Vietnam's 5% broken rice averaged US$397 per tonne, up US$41 per tonne. The gains indicated that the global rice market was gradually recovering, providing a more supportive backdrop for Vietnam's rice exports in the remaining months of the year.
