Domestic coffee prices in Vietnam edged higher on July 22 compared with the previous day. In Lam Dong Province, coffee in Di Linh, Bao Loc and Lam Ha traded at VND98,000 per kg.

In Dak Lak Province, traders purchased coffee at VND98,500 per kg in Cu M'gar, while prices in Ea H'leo and Buon Ho stood at VND98,400 per kg. In Dak Nong (Lam Dong Province), coffee in Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap was traded at VND98,500 and VND98,400 per kg, respectively. In Gia Lai Province, coffee in Chu Prong traded at VND98,500 per kg, while Pleiku and La Grai remained at VND98,400 per kg. In Kon Tum (Quang Ngai Province), coffee was purchased at VND98,400 per kg.

After rising by VND500 per kg, the average coffee price across the Central Highlands reached VND98,500 per kg. The level brought prices close to the psychologically significant threshold of VND100,000 per kg, attracting the attention of farmers, dealers and coffee buyers.

Some farmers who still held stocks were expected to delay sales in anticipation of prices surpassing the VND100,000-per-kg mark. Meanwhile, growers requiring cash flow were likely to consider selling part of their inventories to reduce the risk of a potential market reversal.

Domestic coffee prices were influenced not only by movements on the London futures market but also by remaining supplies held by farmers, exporters' delivery demand, exchange rate fluctuations and competition among local buyers.

Opening prices on July 22, 2026

In the short term, simultaneous gains in both Robusta and Arabica futures were seen as supportive for the market. However, market participants were expected to monitor upcoming trading sessions before concluding whether the upward trend would prove sustainable.

According to the Import-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, citing data from the Vietnam Customs Department, Vietnam exported 126,400 tonnes of coffee worth US$585.6 million in June 2026, up 4% in volume but down 15.8% in value from June 2025.

In the first six months of 2026, Vietnam's coffee exports totalled 1.05 million tonnes worth US$4.81 billion, increasing 7.4% in volume while declining 13.8% in value from the same period a year earlier as export prices fell.

Coffee exports were expected to slow in the near term as domestic supplies tightened, while exporters continued to face pressure from procurement costs, financing expenses and inventory holdings. In the global market, improving supplies from Brazil and Indonesia were expected to increase competitive pressure on Vietnamese coffee.

Europe remained Vietnam's largest export destination for coffee in the first half of 2026. However, market performance across the region was mixed. While some markets recorded healthy growth, others reduced imports as consumer demand recovered slowly and inventories remained elevated.

Meanwhile, Vietnam's coffee exports to Asia showed a more positive trend, particularly in Northeast Asia. Rising consumer demand, expansion of the processing industry and the continued development of distribution networks were expected to create additional opportunities for Vietnamese coffee across the region.
