The Dak Nong area of Lam Dong Province recorded the country's highest buying price at VND140,500 per kg.
It was followed by Dak Lak at VND140,000 per kg, while Ba Ria-Vung Tau area of Ho Chi Minh City was quoted at VND137,500 per kg.
Pepper prices in Dong Nai and Gia Lai held at VND137,000 per kg.
According to data from the Vietnam Customs Department, Vietnam exported 24,100 metric tons of pepper in June, worth more than US$160 million, up 4% in volume and 2% in value from the same month last year.
During the first six months of 2026, pepper exports reached 146,000 metric tons, valued at more than US$950 million, up 19% in volume and 12% in value from the corresponding period of 2025.
Vietnam's average pepper export price in June stood at US$6,659 a metric ton, up 0.2% from May but down 2% from a year earlier.
For the first half of 2026, the average export price reached US$6,508 a metric ton, down 5% from the same period in 2025.
Vietnam's pepper exports expanded in several major markets, including the United States, Germany, India, the Netherlands, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates.
Exports to Türkiye increased nearly fourfold in both volume and value, reflecting stronger import demand in that market.
By contrast, shipments to Thailand, Egypt, the Philippines, and Pakistan declined from a year earlier.
The United States remained Vietnam's largest pepper export market during the first six months of the year.
The country imported 36,040 metric tons of Vietnamese pepper worth US$260 million, accounting for 24.7% of Vietnam's total pepper export volume.
Exports to the United States rose 24.5% in volume and 18.2% in value from the same period in 2025, reinforcing the market's role as a key driver of Vietnam's pepper exports.
Data from the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) showed that U.S. imports of pepper under HS codes 090411 and 090412 totalled 40,020 metric tons worth US$298.6 million during the first five months of 2026, up 10.4% in volume and 11.5% in value from a year earlier.
Vietnam remained the largest supplier of pepper to the United States during the period, exporting 31,950 metric tons valued at US$239.73 million, up 36.8% in volume and 35.8% in value year on year.
As a result, Vietnam's share of total U.S. pepper imports rose from 64.4% to 79.82% by volume, while its share by value increased from 65.95% to 80.3%.
Most of Vietnam's competitors recorded sharp declines in shipments to the U.S. market.
U.S. pepper imports from Indonesia fell 65.2%, those from India declined 23.4%, while imports from other suppliers dropped 27.7%.
