VIX Securities (VIX) reduces debt by VND6,772.5 billion in first 6 months of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - VIX Securities Joint Stock Company (VIX - HOSE) recorded a profit of VND75.88 billion in the second quarter, bringing the cumulative profit for the first half of 2026 to VND214.25 billion, a decrease of 87.2% compared to the same period last year.

In the second quarter of 2026, VIX Securities recorded total revenue of VND1,349.3 billion, a decrease of 31.7% compared to the same period last year; after-tax profit reached VND75.88 billion, a decrease of 93.7% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, total expenses increased by 200.2% compared to the same period last year, equivalent to an increase of VND866.56 billion, reaching VND1,155.18 billion.
Regarding revenue structure, during the period, profit from financial assets recognized through profit/loss (FVTPL) decreased by 45.3% year-on-year, equivalent to a decrease of VND769.04 billion, to VND929.16 billion; profit from loans and receivables increased by 62.3% year-on-year, equivalent to an increase of VND133.5 billion, to VND347.91 billion…
Furthermore, regarding total expenses, the sharp increase was mainly due to a 329.2% year-on-year increase in losses from financial assets recognized through profit/loss (FVTPL), equivalent to an increase of VND865.77 billion, to VND1,128.8 billion.
VIX Securities explained that the stock market decline in the second quarter resulted in a decrease of VND769 billion in "profit from financial assets recognized through profit/loss" and an increase of VND865.7 billion in "loss from financial assets recognized through profit/loss" compared to the same period last year. However, thanks to increased margin lending activities, VIX Securities increased revenue from receivables and loans by VND133 billion compared to the same period last year.
Cumulatively in the first half of 2026, VIX Securities recorded total revenue of VND3,002.71 billion, an increase of 1.6% compared to the same period last year; after-tax profit reached VND214.25 billion, a decrease of 87.2% compared to the same period last year.
Regarding assets, as of June 30, 2026, VIX Securities' total assets increased by 13% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to an increase of VND4,425.3 billion, reaching VND38,592.3 billion. Of this, the main assets recorded were VND 20,818.7 billion in financial assets recognized through profit/loss (FVTPL), accounting for 53.95% of total assets; and VND13,958.1 billion in loans, accounting for 36.17% of total assets.
Furthermore, regarding capital sources, as of the end of the second quarter, VIX Securities' total short-term debt decreased by 59.8% compared to the beginning of the year, equivalent to a decrease of VND6,772.5 billion, to VND4,559.5 billion, representing 13.9% of total equity.
