AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s imports of all types of wheat in June were estimated at 507,700 tonnes, with a value of $140.7 million, an increase of 29% in volume and 31.8% in value compared to the previous month.

In the first six months of the year, the country’s total wheat imports were estimated at 4,883,900 tonnes, with a value of $1,266.5 million, an increase of 60.2% in volume and 55.7% in value compared to 2025.
According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, in May of 2026, imports of all types of wheat reached 393,700 tonnes, with a value of $106.8 million, a decrease of 65.8% in volume and 63% in value compared to the previous month. Overall, in the first five months of the year, imports of all types of wheat reached 4,376,200 tonnes, with a value of 1,125.7 million USD, an increase of 59.7% in volume and 54.6% in value compared to 2025.
In the first five months of 2026, Australia continued to be the largest supplier of wheat to Vietnam, reaching 591,300 tonnes with a value of 163.8 million USD. Although still maintaining its leading position, the volume and value of imports from this market recorded a decrease of 8.8% and 7.4% respectively compared to the same period last year.
Brazil ranked second with the imported volume of 423,600 tonnes of wheat, valued at 108.7 million USD. In comparison to the same period of 2025, the supply from this South American country decreased sharply, by 57.2% in volume and 57.3% in value respectively. Meanwhile, wheat imports from Canada recorded a positive surge. Specifically, in the first five months of 2026, Vietnam imported 366,700 tonnes of wheat from this market, worth of 102.3 million USD, a sharp increase of 92.2% in volume and 81% in value compared to the same period last year.
