 Friday, July 17,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam's domestic rice market recorded mixed price movements on July 17, with trading activity remaining subdued across the Mekong Delta as buyers and sellers continued to trade cautiously.

Fresh paddy prices increased
According to the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment, fresh paddy prices moved higher for several major varieties.
Fresh OM 18 paddy rose by VND500/kg to VND6,800–7,000/kg, while fresh OM 34 also gained VND500/kg to VND6,100–6,300/kg. Fresh Dai Thom 8 increased by VND100/kg to VND7,000–7,200/kg, and fresh IR 50404 edged up VND100/kg to VND6,100–6,200/kg. Meanwhile, fresh OM 5451 remained unchanged at VND6,300–6,500/kg compared with mid-week levels.
Field reports showed farmers raising their asking prices slightly, although trading remained slow. In An Giang, traders mainly collected paddy that had been contracted earlier, with limited new transactions, while prices for several fresh paddy varieties increased.
In Dong Thap, farmers quoted slightly higher prices for premium-quality paddy. Meanwhile, trading in Can Tho, Ca Mau, Vinh Long, and Tay Ninh remained sluggish, with most paddy prices broadly stable.

According to updates from the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment and Lua Gao Viet, export-grade raw rice prices were mostly steady from the previous day.

Market participants reported that trading remained slow as supplies of Summer-Autumn rice were limited. Rice prices were generally stable across producing regions.
In An Giang, new transactions remained limited, although rice prices showed a slight upward trend.
