Hoa Phat (HPG) produced 7 million tons of steel in the first half of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - In Q2/2026, Hoa Phat Group (HPG - HOSE) produced over 3.6 million tons of crude steel (steel billets), a 48% increase compared to Q2/2025 and a 9% increase compared to Q1/2026.
Sales volume of construction steel products, high-quality steel coils, hot-rolled steel coils, and steel billets reached 3.5 million tons, a 35% increase compared to the same period last year.
Of which, construction steel and high-quality steel coils recorded 1.3 million tons, a 2% increase compared to the same period in 2025 and a 9% decrease compared to Q1/2026. Hoa Phat Steel maintains its number one market share in Vietnam with 36% and is present in more than 45 countries and territories worldwide.
Hoa Phat Steel is widely used in key projects, such as: the Tan Son Nhat Airport expansion project, Phu Quoc Airport, the US Embassy in Hanoi, the North-South Expressway, the Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, My Thuan 2 Bridge, the pedestrian bridge over the Saigon River, and new bridge projects over the Red River (Tran Hung Dao Bridge, Ngoc Hoi Bridge)...
For hot-rolled coil (HRC) steel, sales volume in the second quarter reached 1.9 million tons, an increase of 31% compared to the first quarter of 2026 and a 64% increase compared to the same period last year. Currently, domestic consumption of HRC accounts for 80%, with the remainder being exported. Hoa Phat has exported HRC to 20 countries and territories in Asia, Europe, America, and Africa.
Hoa Phat also produces and supplies the domestic and export markets with many types of processed steel products such as steel pipes, galvanized sheets, and various types of prestressed steel. In the second quarter of 2026, the Group supplied 212,000 tons of steel pipes and 83,000 tons of galvanized steel sheets. Prestressed steel and various types of wire rod steel reached over 65,000 tons, a 59% increase compared to the same period last year.
In the first six months of the year, Hoa Phat Group produced nearly 7 million tons of crude steel, a 36% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Sales of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel, and steel billets reached 6.5 million tons, a 32% increase compared to the first half of last year.
Hot-rolled coil (HRC) sales reached nearly 3.4 million tons, a 57% increase compared to the first six months of 2025. Currently, Hoa Phat is the only Vietnamese enterprise that has invested in the production of hot-rolled coil (HRC). In early 2026, the Group produced and exported to the US and Europe many types of high-quality, specialized HRC steel for the oil and gas and mechanical engineering industries, including J55, J55-UP, X52, X70, HSLA 55, and most recently, S700MC.
In the first six months of the year, the Group also supplied the market with 453,000 tons of steel pipes, a 13% increase compared to the first half of 2025; and 189,000 tons of galvanized steel sheets, a 5% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Hoa Phat Group is currently the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia with a capacity of 16 million tons. Of this, over 60% of the production consists of high-quality steels serving the mechanical engineering, automotive, shipbuilding, oil and gas, household appliance, steel structure, and energy industries. Hoa Phat is currently implementing a project to build a rail and special steel production plant in Dung Quat. The plant is expected to produce rail steel in the second quarter of 2027, serving key railway projects in Vietnam and for export to international markets.
