 Tuesday, July 7,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam's rice market recorded mixed movements on July 7, with fresh paddy prices rising across the Mekong Delta, while domestic export rice prices and Asian export markets remained unchanged.

Rice markets across Asia continued to face pressure from elevated energy prices and high logistics costs, weighing on supply-demand fundamentals and keeping trading activity cautious.
In Vietnam's Mekong Delta, paddy and rice prices posted slight changes on Tuesday, while trading remained slow.
According to the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment, fresh IR 50404 paddy rose by 100 dong per kg to 5,550-5,700 dong per kg. Fresh Dai Thom 8 gained 100 dong per kg to 6,300-6,500 dong per kg, while fresh OM 18 climbed 300 dong per kg to 6,400-6,600 dong per kg. Fresh OM 34 was quoted at 5,400-5,600 dong per kg, while fresh OM 5451 remained at 5,700-5,800 dong per kg. Market activity at producing areas remained sluggish. In Dong Thap Province, farmers continued to hold out for higher prices, resulting in slow transactions.
In An Giang, farmers slightly raised asking prices for premium fragrant paddy, although trading remained limited. Fresh paddy prices in Can Tho, Ca Mau, Vinh Long and Tay Ninh were little changed.
For rice, according to updates from the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment and Lua Gao Viet, export-grade IR 504 rice was quoted at 8,950-9,050 dong per kg. In Sa Dec, Dong Thap Province, supplies remained limited and raw rice prices were unchanged. In An Cu, Dong Thap, finished rice prices at local markets continued to edge higher due to tight supplies, while other rice varieties were steady.
Retail rice prices were unchanged from the previous day. Nang Nhen rice was quoted at 28,000 dong per kg, Huong Lai at 22,000 dong per kg, and long-grain Thai fragrant rice at 20,000-22,000 dong per kg.
