Sao Ta (FMC): June sales down 14%, shrimp consumption declines after a positive May
Monday, July 6,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - Sao Ta Food Joint Stock Company (FMC) has just announced its consolidated operating results for June 2026, showing a decrease in sales and consumption compared to the same period last year, after recording signs of recovery in May.
Specifically, in June, FMC produced 3,582 tons of finished shrimp products, an increase of 2.7% compared to the same period last year. Finished agricultural product output reached 70 tons, a decrease of 5%.
In terms of consumption, finished shrimp production reached 1,509 tons, a decrease of 6% compared to the same period, while agricultural product consumption reached 106 tons, a decrease of 8%.
Consolidated sales for the month reached US$16.9 million, a decrease of 14% compared to June 2025, reversing the trend after growth in the previous month.
Previously, in May 2026, FMC recorded consolidated sales of US$21.67 million, a 4% increase year-on-year. This was a positive sign after a series of sales declines in the first four months of the year. However, the June results showed that the recovery was not yet truly sustainable, as both sales and consumption volume reversed and decreased.
Regarding shrimp farming, FMC stated that the Xuan Phu farm has completed stocking, while the Vinh Thuan farm is continuing stocking and is expected to complete by the end of July. According to the company, shrimp in the farming areas are developing well.
In 2026, Sao Ta aims for consolidated sales revenue of VND8,000 billion and consolidated pre-tax profit of VND452 billion. FMC stated that this year's profit target is expected to increase by approximately 10% compared to the previous year's performance; however, the company still expects to break through to 15-20% if conditions are favorable.
