AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam and South Africa have stepped up business cooperation in the chemicals and mining sectors.
As part of the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem)'s working visit to Johannesburg, South Africa, on June 24, 2026, the Embassy of Vietnam in South Africa (Trade Office), in collaboration with Vinachem, co-hosted a business-to-business (B2B) networking event that attracted strong interest from South African companies operating in the chemicals and mining sectors. The Vinachem delegation was led by Phung Quang Hiep, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Members' Council.
The delegation also included representatives from several Vinachem member companies, including Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemicals JSC, Southern Rubber Industry JSC (Casumina), DAP Vinachem, Ninh Binh Nitrogen Fertilizer Company, Viet Tri Chemicals JSC, Southern Fertilizer Company and Lix Detergent JSC.
During the event, Vinachem expressed its interest in building partnerships with South African suppliers of phosphate ore, basic chemicals and coal to support Vietnam's chemical and fertilizer industries.
At the B2B networking session, the delegation held direct business discussions with several leading South African companies engaged in mining and raw material supply, including Foskor Pty Ltd. and Kropz.
On this occasion, the leadership of Vietnam National Chemical Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Chemical and Allied Industries Association (CAIA) of South Africa.
