Vietnam commodities market on July 2, 2026: Gold rebounded, coffee rose, pepper fell to three-month Low

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam's commodity markets showed mixed movements on Thursday morning. Domestic gold prices rebounded after several sessions of losses, coffee prices recovered on stronger international markets, while domestic pepper prices dropped to their lowest level in about three months. Durian prices also eased as peak harvest season increased supplies.

Gold
By 10:30 a.m., domestic gold prices had reversed earlier losses and moved sharply higher. SJC, DOJI, PNJ and Bao Tin Minh Chau quoted SJC gold bars at 145.4-148.4 million VND per tael (buying-selling), up 2 million VND per tael on both sides from the previous session. Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phu Quy traded at 145.0-148.4 million VND per tael, with Bao Tin Minh Chau posting the strongest buying-price increase of 2.5 million VND per tael.
Mi Hong quoted gold bars at 146.0 million VND per tael for buying and 147.7 million VND per tael for selling.
For gold rings, SJC listed prices at 144.2-148.2 million VND per tael. Bao Tin Minh Chau and DOJI both quoted 145.4-148.4 million VND per tael, while Bao Tin Minh Chau's Dragon Gold rings traded at 145.0-148.0 million VND per tael.
Coffee
Domestic coffee prices recovered after the previous session's decline.
According to giacaphe.com, buying prices across Vietnam's Central Highlands increased by 1,200 VND per kg, pushing the market back above the 90,000 VND per kg threshold.
Dak Nong (Lam Dong) recorded the highest buying price at 90,500 VND per kg. Dak Lak and Gia Lai were both quoted at 90,400 VND per kg, while Lam Dong (former province) traded at 90,000 VND per kg.
On international markets, London Robusta coffee futures settled sharply higher. The July contract rose 113 USD per tonne to 3,958 USD per tonne, while the September contract also gained 113 USD per tonne to 3,771 USD per tonne.
New York Arabica futures also advanced, with the July contract rising 13.1 U.S. cents per pound to close at 424.3 U.S. cents per pound.
Pepper
Domestic pepper prices declined by 2,000-4,000 VND per kg, marking the weakest levels since late March.
According to giatieu.com, buying prices ranged from 133,000 VND to 137,000 VND per kg.
Dong Nai recorded the steepest decline of 4,000 VND per kg, falling to 133,000 VND per kg. Dak Nong (Lam Dong) also lost 4,000 VND per kg to 135,000 VND per kg.
Gia Lai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City) both fell 3,000 VND per kg to 134,000 VND per kg, while Dak Lak eased to 137,000 VND per kg.
Export pepper prices remained unchanged. Indonesian black pepper was quoted at 7,121 USD per tonne, Brazil ASTA 570 at 5,900 USD per tonne, and Malaysian black pepper at 9,350 USD per tonne. Vietnamese exporters continued offering 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper at 6,100-6,200 USD per tonne.
Durian
Durian prices weakened further as harvesting activities accelerated.
In the Mekong Delta, Monthong durian Grade A was purchased at 61,000-65,000 VND per kg, while Ri6 Grade A traded at 37,000-38,000 VND per kg. Premium Black Thorn Grade A remained at 110,000 VND per kg.
Monthong Grade A was quoted at 71,000-77,000 VND per kg in Tay Ninh and 69,000 VND per kg in Dong Nai. In Dak Lak, prices ranged between 69,000 VND and 72,000 VND per kg.
Rice
Vietnam's rice market remained broadly stable.
Fresh IR50404 paddy was traded at 5,400-5,500 VND per kg. Fresh OM34 paddy was quoted at 5,400-5,600 VND per kg, while fresh OM5451 fetched 5,700-5,800 VND per kg.
Export-grade CL555 rice traded at 9,200-9,300 VND per kg, IR504 rice at 8,700-8,800 VND per kg, and OM5451 rice at 9,500-9,600 VND per kg.
According to the Vietnam Food Association, Jasmine rice was offered at 508-512 USD per tonne. Fragrant 5% broken rice was quoted at 450-495 USD per tonne, while 100% broken fragrant rice stood at 347-351 USD per tonne.
Live hogs
Live hog prices were unchanged nationwide, ranging between 60,000 VND and 66,000 VND per kg.
Northern provinces traded at 65,000-66,000 VND per kg. Central and Central Highlands provinces ranged from 61,000 VND to 65,000 VND per kg, while southern provinces remained between 60,000 VND and 62,000 VND per kg.
Rubber
Asian rubber markets closed mixed. The June contract on Japan's TOCOM exchange settled at 406.80 JPY per kg, while the July contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose to 16,705 CNY per tonne.Singapore's July contract declined to 209.40 U.S. cents per kg.
Domestic rubber prices remained unchanged. Binh Long Rubber Company purchased latex at 545 VND per TSC degree per kg, Mang Yang Rubber Company maintained Grade 1 latex at 463 VND per TSC kg, Ba Ria Rubber Company bought latex at 452 VND per TSC degree per kg, and Phu Rieng Rubber Company kept prices at 420 VND per TSC kg.
