Vietnam commodities market on July 1, 2026: Gold fell, coffee and rice declined while pepper held steady

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam's commodities market showed mixed movements on Wednesday, with domestic gold prices retreating after early gains, domestic coffee prices falling below VND90,000/kg, and the rice market remaining sluggish. Meanwhile, pepper and durian prices were largely unchanged, while rubber prices edged higher on regional exchanges.
Gold prices retreated after early gains
Domestic gold prices opened higher but reversed course later in the trading session.
SJC gold bars were initially quoted at VND156.6 million-VND158.6 million per tael (buying-selling), up VND600,000 per tael from the previous close. SJC gold bars at ACB Bank were also offered at VND157.6 million-VND158.6 million per tael.
By 2:07 p.m., SJC lowered its quotations by VND500,000 per tael on both buying and selling sides, bringing prices to VND156.1 million-VND158.1 million per tael. ACB Bank quoted SJC gold bars at VND157.1 million-VND158.1 million per tael.
For gold rings, SJC quoted its 9999 gold rings at VND152.1 million-VND154.6 million per tael. Compared with the morning session, the buying price increased by an additional VND500,000 per tael while the selling price remained unchanged. DOJI maintained its quotations at VND153.5 million-VND156.5 million per tael, while Bao Tin Minh Chau kept prices steady at VND155.5 million-VND158.5 million per tael.
Compared with the previous session, SJC gold bars increased by VND100,000 per tael on both buying and selling sides, while SJC and DOJI gold rings rose by between VND600,000 and VND1.1 million per tael.
Domestic coffee prices slipped below VND90,000/kg
Domestic coffee prices declined on the first trading day of July, falling by around VND600/kg as weaker Robusta futures in London weighed on the local market.
Dak Nong (Lam Dong) posted the sharpest decline of VND700/kg but remained the highest-priced area at VND89,300/kg. Dak Lak and Gia Lai were both quoted at VND89,200/kg, while Lam Dong (former province) recorded the lowest level at VND88,800/kg.
On international markets, the July Robusta contract on ICE Europe fell to USD3,761 per tonne. In contrast, July Arabica futures on ICE U.S. climbed to 291.10 U.S. cents per pound.
Pepper prices remained unchanged
Domestic pepper prices were steady at between VND137,000/kg and VND139,000/kg.
Dak Lak and Dak Nong (Lam Dong) continued to post the highest prices at VND139,000/kg. Gia Lai, Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City) remained at VND137,000/kg.
In the export market, Indonesia's black pepper was quoted at USD7,121 per tonne, while Brazil ASTA 570 remained at USD5,900 per tonne and Malaysia's black pepper held at USD9,350 per tonne. Vietnam's 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper export prices stayed unchanged at USD6,100-USD6,200 per tonne.
For white pepper, Indonesia maintained its quotation at USD9,252 per tonne, Malaysia at USD12,250 per tonne and Vietnam at USD9,000 per tonne.
Rice trading stayed sluggish
The paddy market in the Mekong Delta remained quiet, with weak buying interest causing slight declines in fresh paddy prices.
Fresh IR50404 and Dai Thom 8 paddy both fell by VND100/kg to around VND5,400-VND5,500/kg and VND6,100-VND6,200/kg, respectively. OM18 paddy traded at VND6,200-VND6,300/kg.
Meanwhile, prices of rice materials and finished rice remained largely stable. CL555 rice materials were quoted at VND9,200-VND9,300/kg, IR504 at VND8,700-VND8,800/kg, OM5451 at VND9,500-VND9,600/kg, OM18 at VND8,700-VND8,850/kg and Dai Thom 8 at VND9,200-VND9,400/kg.
According to the Vietnam Food Association, export rice quotations were unchanged. Jasmine rice was offered at USD508-USD512 per tonne, 5% broken fragrant rice at USD450-USD495 per tonne and 100% broken fragrant rice at USD347-USD351 per tonne.
Thai 5% broken rice remained at USD480-USD484 per tonne, while Thai 100% broken rice was quoted at USD412-USD416 per tonne. India continued to offer the world's lowest prices, with 5% broken rice at USD350-USD354 per tonne and 100% broken rice at USD280-USD284 per tonne.
Durian prices held firm
Durian prices remained stable across major growing areas.
Grade-A Black Thorn durian was quoted at VND110,000/kg, while Grade-A Musang King traded at VND80,000-VND85,000/kg.
For Thai durian, Grade-A fruit in Dak Lak fetched VND72,000-VND80,000/kg, compared with VND71,000-VND77,000/kg in Tay Ninh and around VND70,000/kg in Dong Nai.
In the Mekong Delta, Grade-A Thai durian traded at VND63,000-VND65,000/kg, while Grade-A Ri6 durian was quoted at VND35,000-VND39,000/kg.
Regional rubber markets advanced
Rubber futures extended gains across major Asian exchanges.
On Japan's TOCOM exchange, RSS3 contracts rose across all delivery months, with the October 2026 contract reaching JPY410.10/kg. On Singapore's SGX, the July 2026 contract climbed 2.41% to 217 U.S. cents/kg.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, rubber prices traded in a range of CNY16,735-CNY16,760 per tonne.
Domestic latex purchasing prices remained unchanged. Binh Long Rubber Company continued to offer the highest buying price for fresh latex at VND545 per TSC degree/kg, while mixed latex with 60% DRC was purchased at VND18,000/kg.
Live pig prices were little changed
Live pig prices remained within a range of VND61,000-VND67,000/kg nationwide.
Northern Vietnam continued to record the highest prices, with Hanoi and Hung Yen at VND67,000/kg, while most other provinces traded at VND66,000/kg.
In the central and Central Highlands regions, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An stood at VND66,000/kg, whereas Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Dak Lak remained around VND62,000/kg.
Southern provinces such as Tay Ninh, Dong Thap and An Giang continued to record the lowest prices at VND61,000/kg, as ample supply and subdued demand limited any upward momentum in the market.
