AsemconnectVietnam - Minh Phu Seafood Group Joint Stock Company (MPC - UPCoM) has just inaugurated the Minh Phu Khanh An Seafood Processing Plant in Ca Mau.

The Minh Phu Khanh An plant, with an investment of VND1,500 billion, has a capacity of 35,000 tons per year and employs 5,000 workers. It is located in Khanh An Industrial Park (Khanh An commune, Ca Mau province).
Ms. Chu Thi Binh, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of MPC, said that the Group boldly invested in a large plant to have ample space, arrange many separate production lines to prevent cross-contamination, and invest in many advanced automation systems, introducing robots for sizing and color sorting into production stages to improve labor productivity, stabilize quality, and especially ensure uniformity and accuracy in each product, satisfying even the most demanding customers and meeting the requirements of even the most stringent markets.
Minh Phu is shifting its revenue structure towards high-value-added processed shrimp products, replacing traditional shrimp products which currently account for 40% of the company's revenue. Traditional products are facing competition from cheaper shrimp from Ecuador and India.
By 2025, Ca Mau province's seafood export turnover is projected to exceed US$2.4 billion, with Minh Phu accounting for over US$542 million of that total.
Minh Phu stated that the company is also in the process of investing in a processing plant in Hau Giang. However, according to General Director Le Van Quang, due to the lengthy investment procedures, the Hau Giang plant has not yet been completed.
Minh Phu expects after-tax profit in the first six months of the year to exceed VND 500 billion, achieving over 50% of its annual profit target.
