China continued to maintain its position as Vietnam's largest import market for mobile phones and components, with May import value of US$695.4 million, a 15% increase compared to the previous month and accounting for 81.2% of the total. However, overall in the first 5 months of the year, imports from this country decreased by 12.2% compared to the same period last year, to US$3.24 billion.
Meanwhile, the South Korean market solidified its second-largest position with positive growth trends, reaching $158.7 million in the first five months, nearly 16.8% increase, raising its market share from 3.26% to 4.09%.
In the first five months of the year, imports of phones and components from Taiwan reached $10.34 million (a 26% increase), while imports from Japan maintained a 7.9% increase, and notably, Hong Kong saw a dramatic surge of over 705.3%.
However, imports from some markets experienced sharp declines, such as from India, down by 80.59% reaching only $1.76 million, and from the UK, down by 83.04%.
