 Friday, June 26,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam's domestic rice market remained largely stable on Friday, with export-grade CL 555 rice and by-products posting slight gains, while prices of fresh paddy, finished rice and retail rice were little changed.

Export-grade CL 555 rice rose by 100 VND/kg from the previous session to 9,100 VND/kg, making it the only variety to record a price increase during the day. The rise reflected improving demand for raw materials from processors and exporters.
Prices of other rice varieties were unchanged. IR 50404 rice was quoted at 8,700-8,800 VND/kg, while OM 5451 traded at 9,500-9,600 VND/kg. Dai Thom 8 was offered at 9,200-9,400 VND/kg, and OM 18 remained at 8,700-8,850 VND/kg.
Prices of OM 380 and Soc Thom rice were steady at 7,500-7,600 VND/kg. Meanwhile, finished IR 50404 rice continued to trade at 10,750-10,900 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous session.
Rice by-products also recorded modest gains, rising by around 50 VND/kg. Broken fragrant rice was quoted at 7,950-8,100 VND/kg, while rice bran traded at 7,950-8,050 VND/kg. Demand from the animal feed industry continued to lend support to prices of both products.
Retail rice prices remained broadly stable. Nang Nhen rice continued to command the highest price at around 28,000 VND/kg. Huong Lai rice and Japanese rice were both sold at 22,000 VND/kg, while Nang Hoa rice was priced at around 21,000 VND/kg. Thai long-grain fragrant rice was quoted at 20,000-22,000 VND/kg.
Prices of common rice varieties were also little changed. Jasmine rice traded at 16,000-17,000 VND/kg, ordinary white rice at around 16,000 VND/kg, ordinary rice at 14,000-15,000 VND/kg, and Dai Thom rice at 14,500-15,500 VND/kg.
Fresh paddy prices across major producing areas were stable despite improving trading demand. IR50404 paddy was purchased at 5,500-5,700 VND/kg, OM 5451 at 5,700-5,800 VND/kg, and OM34 at 5,400-5,600 VND/kg. Meanwhile, OM18 and Dai Thom 8 remained the highest-priced varieties, trading in the range of 6,200-6,400 VND/kg.
