Friday, June 26,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - Domestic coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands extended gains on Friday morning, rising VND700 per kg from the same time a day earlier to VND89,000–89,500 per kg.
The highest price was recorded in Dak Nong (former province) at VND89,500 per kg, up VND700 from the previous day. Coffee prices in Gia Lai and Dak Lak reached VND89,400 per kg, while Lam Dong posted the lowest price at VND89,000 per kg. Vietnam's coffee exports continued to decline in May 2026 due to tightening supplies. According to data from the Vietnam Customs Department, the country exported 143,000 metric tons of coffee worth USD639.4 million in May, down 10.8% in volume and 30.3% in value compared with May 2025.
In the first five months of 2026, Vietnam exported 927,300 metric tons of coffee valued at USD4.23 billion, up 7.8% in volume but down 13.5% in value from the same period of 2025, as coffee prices declined sharply.
The average export price of Vietnamese coffee during the January-May period reached USD4,557 per metric ton, down 19.7% year on year.
Overall, Vietnam's coffee exports to most markets continued to record positive growth. Europe remained the largest consuming region and retained its key position in Vietnam's coffee exports. Shipments to major European markets, including Germany and Italy, maintained positive volume growth during the first five months of 2026, supported by stable consumer demand.
Meanwhile, Asia showed more encouraging signs, driven by stronger demand from China and the stable performance of the Japanese market.
In the Americas, the United States remained one of Vietnam's major coffee export destinations, while Algeria emerged as a promising market for Vietnamese coffee in Africa.
