AsemconnectVietnam - In May of 2026, Vietnam's bamboo and rattan product exports reached US$80.9 million, an increase of 0.88% compared to April of 2026, according to the data from Vietnam Customs Department.
In total, for the first five months of 2026, the export value of Vietnam's bamboo and rattan products reached over US$399.95 million, an increase of 8.63% compared to the same period in 2025.

In the first five months of this year, the United States continued to lead the list of key export markets for Vietnam's bamboo and rattan products with an export value of over US$190 million, accounting for 47.5% of the total and increasing by 10.7% compared to the same period last year.
The EU market ranked second with a turnover of nearly $83.4 million, an increase of nearly 9.4%, mainly due to a 20.9% increase in exports to Spain and over 34.6% in the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, in the Asian market, Vietnam's rattan and bamboo product exports to the RCEP bloc grew by 4.4% to $39.3 million, with exports to Japan increasing by nearly 3.4%, to India by 19.6%, and to China by a strong 53.35%.
Notably, Vietnam's rattan and bamboo product exports to the Russian market also recorded strong growth of 198.6%, although the export value was still relatively low.
The effective market shifts and diversification, combined with the green consumer trend in developed countries, are expected to continue to be the main drivers helping rattan and bamboo exports maintain positive growth in the second half of 2026, requiring businesses to proactively adapt to increasingly stringent sustainability standards from the EU.
