Vietnam's imports from China in May and 5 months of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the data from the Customs Department, Vietnam's imports of goods from China in May of 2026 reached US$22.04 billion, an increase of 36.29% compared to the same period of 2025.
In the first five months of the year, Vietnam's total import value from China reached US$92.5 billion, an increase of 33.6% compared to the same period of 2025.
In the first five months of 2026, the group of computers, electronic products and components led the list of key product groups that Vietnam imported from China, with the import value of US$31.5 billion, a sharp increase of 65.37% compared to the same period last year and accounting for 34.09% of Vietnam's total imports from this market.
Machinery, equipment, and spare parts ranked second with a value exceeding US$17.6 billion, an increase of 22.36%. Meanwhile, the imports of telephones and components decreased by 12.2%.
Notably, in the first five months of 2026, the imports of gemstones and precious metals experienced phenomenal growth of 1,013.22%, reaching over US$544 million. In contrast, cotton imports plummeted by 86.07%.
