Vietnam tourist arrivals reached 1.78 million in May of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - International arrivals to Vietnam in May of 2026 increased by 16.5% year-on-year to a seven-month low of 1.78 million, after increasing by 22.8% in April of this year.
The number of visitors from Asia, Vietnam's largest tourism market, increased 9.7%, supported by growth from China (8.9%), Japan (18.7%), Taiwan (12.6%), Malaysia (17.3%), and Thailand (9.0%). Arrivals from the Americas climbed 18.5%, mostly due to the visitor numbers from the United States increased (by 16.4%) and Canada (by 31.4%).
Especially, the arrivals from Europe increased 64.0%, mostly due to a sharp increase in visitors from Russia (159.8%), and the growth from the United Kingdom (10.3%) and France (21.8%). Meanwhile, the number of visitors from Australia increased by 30.4%, and the arrivals from Africa increased 19.0%.
Totally in the first five months of 2026, international arrivals to Vietnam reached 10.57 million, up by 14.9% over the same period last year.
