FDI into Vietnam increased by 9.6% in the first five months of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 5 months of this year, the disbursement of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam increased by 9.6% compared with the same period last year to 9.75 billion USD, and was the highest figure of in the first five months of the year in at least 18 years.
Vietnam had 85 newly licensed overseas investment projects with USD 760.8 million USD, 2.8 times higher than the same period of 2025.
There were 10 projects with adjusted capital, with an increase of 33.8 million USD, down by 18.7% year-on-year.
The country's total overseas investment, including both new and adjusted capital, reached 794.6 million, 2.5 times higher than the a year earlier.
The total registered foreign investment in Vietnam, including newly registered capital, adjusted registered capital, and capital contributions and share purchases by foreign investors, reached 24.81 billion USD, up by 34.9% over the same period last year.
