 Wednesday, June 17,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam's commodity markets showed mixed trends on Wednesday as domestic gold prices rebounded sharply, coffee prices edged lower in the Central Highlands, while rice export prices and rubber markets remained supported by positive developments in international trading.

 Domestic gold prices rebounded
Ahead of the morning trading session on June 17, domestic gold prices rose again at major jewelry and bullion companies.
SJC gold bars were quoted at VND149.5 million per tael for buying and VND151.5 million per tael for selling, up VND1.5 million per tael on the buying side and VND1 million per tael on the selling side from the previous session. The buy-sell spread narrowed to VND2 million per tael.
Gold rings followed the same upward trend. At Bao Tin Manh Hai, Kim Gia Bao gold rings were traded at VND148.7 million per tael for buying and VND151.7 million per tael for selling, up VND700,000 per tael on both sides.
DOJI listed gold rings at VND150 million per tael for buying and VND152 million per tael for selling, representing increases of VND1.5 million and VND1 million per tael, respectively.
Meanwhile, SJC gold rings were quoted at VND149.4 million per tael for buying and VND151.4 million per tael for selling, up VND1.5 million per tael on the buying side and VND1 million per tael on the selling side.
Domestic coffee prices slipped while global markets advanced
Coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands fell by VND200-400 per kg following the previous trading session. The average farm-gate price stood at VND89,300 per kg.
Lam Dong province recorded the largest decline, with prices falling to between VND89,000 and VND89,300 per kg. Other producing provinces traded around VND89,300 per kg after posting declines of VND200 per kg.
In contrast, global coffee markets extended their gains. On the London exchange, July 2026 Robusta futures rose for a fifth consecutive session to USD3,669 per tonne, while September 2026 contracts climbed to USD3,598 per tonne.
On the New York exchange, July 2026 Arabica futures jumped more than 5% to 277.25 U.S. cents per pound, reflecting improved investor sentiment toward the global coffee market.
 Pepper market remained cautious

 Durian market faced supply pressure
Vietnam's durian market became increasingly polarized as peak harvest season boosted supplies.

In the Mekong Delta, Grade A Thai durian was traded at VND71,000-77,000 per kg, while Grade B products sold at VND51,000-57,000 per kg. Grade A Ri6 durian ranged from VND36,000 to VND40,000 per kg.
