 Tuesday, June 16,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - In May of 2026, Vietnam’s industrial production increased by 8.8% compared with the figure of May of 2025, but fell from 9.3% increase in April.

The moderation was mainly due to slower growth in mining and quarrying (reaching 6.0% compared with 8.4% in April), electricity and gas supply (8.5% vs. 10.3%), and water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment (8.7% vs. 16.5%).
However, the country’s manufacturing activity was still stable, expanding 9.0% compared with 9.1% in April.
In the first five months of 2026, the country’s industrial production increased by 9.1% compared with the same period last year, reflecting resilient industrial activity despite the slight slowdown in May.
