Ministry of Industry and Trade requires enterprises to ensure uninterrupted supply of biofuel gasoline nationwide

 Wednesday, June 10,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - The Ministry of Industry and Trade has directed enterprises to strictly ensure there is no disruption in the supply of biofuel gasoline.

To secure fuel supply in line with the national roadmap for biofuel adoption, on June 8, 2026, the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development under the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Official Dispatch No. 1781 to petroleum wholesalers and fuel distributors, urging them to proactively secure supply sources and maintain uninterrupted distribution to the market.
On November 7, 2025, the Minister of Industry and Trade issued Circular No. 50 stipulating a roadmap for blending biofuels with conventional fuels. Accordingly, from June 1, 2026, unleaded gasoline under current national technical standards must be blended into E10 gasoline for use in gasoline engines nationwide. Meanwhile, E5RON92 gasoline will continue to be blended for use in gasoline engines until December 31, 2030.
To effectively implement this roadmap, the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development has requested petroleum wholesalers and distributors to strictly comply with regulations on biofuel blending and supply, ensuring adequate fuel availability to meet consumer and production demand.
Enterprises are required to absolutely avoid any disruption in the supply of biofuel gasoline across the entire distribution system, from wholesalers and distributors to retail fuel stations. Under all circumstances, they must ensure sufficient supply of biofuel gasoline to retail outlets within their distribution networks in order to maintain continuous and stable operations.

In addition, businesses are expected to proactively share supply sources and reasonably share profits within the distribution system to ensure uninterrupted supply to the market. They are also required to allocate sufficient manpower and arrange shifts or overtime when necessary to maintain stable operations and meet the demand of both consumers and enterprises.
The Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development also requires petroleum wholesalers and distributors to closely monitor the consumption of biofuel gasoline in the market. In case of any difficulties or obstacles during implementation, enterprises must promptly report to the Agency for consideration and resolution.
For wholesalers and distributors that have not yet reported or have incompletely reported the list of retail fuel stations within their distribution networks for updating on the “Quanh toi” application, the Agency requires them to urgently complete and submit the report no later than June 12, 2026.
Ensuring a stable supply of biofuel gasoline not only contributes to the effective implementation of the energy transition roadmap under the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s regulations, but also meets consumer demand and ensures stable, continuous production and business activities nationwide.
