AsemconnectVietnam - Overcoming difficulties caused by fluctuations in the world market, the city's export turnover of Da Nang in the first four months of 2026 still reached US$1.55 billion, with a trade surplus of US$15 million.

Both export and import showed double-digit growth.
According to Da Nang City Statistics, in April 2026, total two-way import and export turnover of goods reached US$820 million, an increase of 1.9% compared to the previous month and a 10.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, export turnover of goods is estimated at US$430 million, an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous month and a 15.7% increase compared to the same period last year, continuing to play a key role in promoting trade growth. Conversely, import turnover is estimated at 390 million USD, maintaining a recovery trend with a 4.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Overall, in the first four months of 2026, total import and export turnover of goods is estimated at nearly 3.1 billion USD, an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period last year. Of which, export turnover reached approximately 1.55 billion USD, an increase of 13.6%, demonstrating continued improvement in production capacity and ability to utilize export markets. Import turnover is estimated at 1.535 billion USD, an increase of 13.8%, contributing to ensuring supply of inputs for key manufacturing industries.
“Trade balance in the first four months of the year recorded a surplus of 15 million USD, reflecting an improvement in quality of growth and balance of the city's foreign trade activities. This result shows that international trade is recovering steadily, while creating a favorable foundation to promote economic growth in the following months”, said Tran Van Vu, Head of Statistics of Da Nang.
In an interview with Industry and Trade Newspaper, Mr. Tran Ngoc Vinh, Head of Business Department, 29/3 Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company, said that currently, the company's orders are mainly for the European and US markets. In the first months of 2026, despite many geopolitical fluctuations in the world and not yet peak season for the company, export turnover of the company still met annual plan. “We also have orders for the second quarter of 2026 and can ensure production target for 2026,” Mr. Vinh said.
Similarly, according to Mr. Huynh Ngoc Anh Khoa, Head of Garment Import-Export Department, Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Corporation, although partially affected by fluctuations in shipping costs, the company's export orders to the US market remained stable in the first four months of 2026 and the following months of the year.
Boosting trade promotion and export promotion
Ms. Mai Thi Y Nhi, Director of My Phuong Food Co., Ltd., said that thanks to proactive trade promotion and export promotion efforts, in the first four months of 2026, overcoming certain difficulties in export markets, the company's export turnover still grew by about 30% compared to the same period in 2025.
“Some markets such as the US, China and the Middle East are showing signs of stagnation, therefore, currently, we are focusing on maintaining and developing stable markets such as Japan, South Korea, Australia and Europe,” Ms. Nhi informed.
A representative from My Phuong Food stated that, in the coming period, with support of Trade Promotion Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the company will continue to promote trade selectively, participating in major international trade fairs such as Thaifex (Thailand), SIAL (France), PLMA (USA), Canton Fair (China), while also seeking opportunities to expand into potential markets in Southeast Asia such as the Philippines, Indonesia and Brunei. “At the end of May 2026, My Phuong Food will participate in Thaifex, the leading food and beverage trade fair in Thailand, which features many major Vietnamese food and beverage manufacturers and exporters”, Ms. Nhi shared.
To support businesses in trade promotion and export promotion, in the first months of 2026, Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade organized many business delegations to participate in trade fairs and exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
Specifically in Da Nang City, Department of Industry and Trade recently organized "Made in Da Nang Expo 2026", an exhibition showcasing typical export-oriented products for 2026. This exhibition aims to support businesses and cooperatives in promoting their production capabilities, introducing key export-potential products, and fostering trade connections and market expansion both domestically and internationally.
According to Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, in the remaining months of 2026, the city will continue to effectively implement domestic and international trade promotion programs, promoting Da Nang products in conjunction with "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign. This will support businesses in accessing export and import markets, diversifying export and import markets while improving product quality and participating more deeply in regional and global supply chains. The city will also effectively utilize the 17 signed FTAs and strive for a sustainable trade surplus.
