Vietnam’s exports of electric wires and cables increased in first quarter of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the preliminary statistics figures from the Customs Department, the export value of electrical wires and cables in the first quarter of 2026 reached nearly US$1.11 billion, an increase of 17.03% compared to the first quarter of 2025.
In March of 2026 alone, the export value of electric wires and cables reached US$405.88 million, a sharp increase of 46.3% compared to February of 2026 and an increase of 16.07% compared to March of 2025.
Among the many export markets for electric wires and cables, the United States achieved the largest export value of US$391.04 million, accounting for 35.27% of the total export value of this product group nationwide, a strong increase of 25.28% compared to the first quarter of 2025. In March of 2026 alone, the exports reached US$143.45 million, an increase of 48.62% compared to February of 2026 and 21.59% compared to March of 2025.
The Chinese market ranked second in terms of export value, reaching nearly US$207.91 million, accounting for 18.75%, an increase of 14.51%. In March of 2026 alone, it reached US$71.17 million, an increase of 42.35% compared to February 2026 and 4.82% compared to March of 2025; followed by the South Korean market, accounting for 9.02% of the total export value, reaching US$100.01 million, a decrease of 1.82% compared to the same period of 2025. The exports of electrical wires and cables to Japan accounted for 9%, reaching US$99.98 million, an increase of 17.3%.
Meanwhile, the exports of electric wires and cables to the Southeast Asian market in the first quarter of 2026 reached nearly US$104.22 million, accounting for 9.4%, an increase of 23.77%.
Overall, exports of electric wires and cables to most markets in the first quarter of 2026 increased in value compared to the same period of 2025.
