Vietnam’s cement and clinker exports totaled 9.99 million tonnes in first quarter of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, cement and clinker exports in the first quarter of 2026 reached 9.99 million tonnes, equivalent to nearly 359.93 million USD, with an average price of 36 USD/tonne, an increase of 21.32% in volume, 20.78% in value, but a slight decrease of 0.44% in price compared to the same period of 2025.
In March of 2026 alone, exports were estimated at 3.49 million tonnes, equivalent to 128.34 million USD, with an average price of 36.8 USD/tonne, an increase of 25.08% in volume, 27.98% in value, and 2.31% in price compared to February of 2026. Compared to March of 2025, there was also a 15.45% increase in volume and a 14.57% increase in value, but a 0.76% decrease in price.
Cement and clinker were exported most to the Philippines, accounting for 8.02% of the total volume and 8.78% of the total export value of this product group nationwide, reaching 801,232 tonnes, equivalent to nearly 31.58 million USD, with an average price of 39.4 USD/tonne, a sharp decrease of 61.43% in volume and 58.45% in value, but an increase of 7.73% in price compared to the first quarter of 2025. In March of 2026 alone, exports to the Philippines totaled 281,042 tonnes of cement and clinker, equivalent to US$10.96 million, at a price of US$39/tonne, representing a 23.56% increase in volume and a 23.02% increase in value, but a 0.43% decrease in price compared to February of 2026. Compared to March of 2025, there was a sharp decrease of 63.82% in volume and a 61.95% decrease in value, but a 5.18% increase in price.
The second largest market was Bangladesh, with 903,177 tonnes of cement and clinker, generating US$29.61 million at a price of US$32.8/tonne, a decrease of 44.96% in volume and a 40% decrease in value, but an 8.94% increase in price compared to the first quarter of 2025. The exports to the Malaysian market totaled 487.121 million tonnes, equivalent to US$17.42 million, at a price of US$35.8/tonne, representing a 29.35% increase in volume, a 40.79% increase in value, and an 8.83% increase in price; exports to Taiwan totaled 280.110 million tonnes, equivalent to US$10.02 million, a decrease of 9.9% in volume, a 15.29% decrease in value, and a 5.99% decrease in price compared to the same period of 2025.
