Exports of cassava and cassava products increased in first quarter of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam’s exports of cassava and cassava products in the first quarter of 2026 reached nearly 1.34 million tonnes, equivalent to nearly 458.07 million USD, with an average price of 341.91 USD/tonne, an increase of 10.59% in volume, 22.85% in value, and 11.08% in price compared to the same period of 2025.
In March of 2026 alone, the exports were estimated at 533,504 tonnes, equivalent to 189.14 million USD, with an average price of 354.52 USD/tonne, an increase of 78.75% in volume, 90.89% in value, and 6.79% in price compared to February 2026. Compared to March of 2025, there was also a 9.4% increase in volume, a 35.88% increase in value, and a 24.21% increase in price.
Cassava and cassava products were mostly exported to the Chinese market, accounting for 95.14% of the total volume and 93.75% of the total export value of this product group nationwide, reaching 1.27 million tonnes, equivalent to 429.42 million USD, an increase of 10.05% in volume and 22.87% in value compared to Q1/2025. The export price to this market also increased by 11.65%, reaching an average of 336.88 USD/tonne. In March of 2026 alone, the exports to China reached 504,999 tonnes, equivalent to US$176.57 million, at a price of US$349.64/tonne, a sharp increase of 74.84% in volume, 86.74% in value, and 6.81% in price compared to February of 2026. In comparison to March of 2025, there was also an increase of 8.43% in volume, 35.97% in value, and 25.4% in price.
In addition, Vietnam also exported 13,888 tonnes of cassava and cassava products to Taiwan, earning US$6.02 million, an increase of 7.84% in volume and 24.04% in value compared to the same period; and 14,825 tonnes to Malaysia, equivalent to US$6.19 million, an increase of 50% in volume and 64.1% in value. The Philippines imported 7,546 tonnes, equivalent to $3.32 million, a decrease of 6.18% in volume but an increase of 7.63% in value.
